the amount of wildlife killed by cats is big compared to dogs
that alone is reason to favour a dog over a cat. when outside your cat is harming wildlife even if it doesn't kill anything
I've just googled cats killing wildlife and there was an article just released in Australia where a study claims they're killing 1million birds a day.
I seem to remember the number in the USA per year being in the billions.
mostly it is feral cats put they can breed with pets.
That being bad presumes that the killing is unnatural and not just a normal part of a cat's life. Cats don't eat dry food in nature.
that makes it ok then?
If a bird that can fly gets rekt by a cat, it wasn't a very good bird, was it? That's how evolution works
If a human can't dodge bullets, they weren't a very good human, were there? That's how evolution works
(I'm not advocating bullets, violence, or guns. Just pointing out how quickly this logic immediately falls apart...)
I think it is more to do with the number of cats increasing the rate of kills as they're more likely to fail than succeed much the same with most predators I think
hello the problem is that cats have had an artificial advantage because of how they were bred into large numbers by humans then thrust into environments where they were not even originally found at all let alone in such massive quantities
people also feed the cats and encourage them because they like cats and it creates a very unbalanced ecosystem

If the amount of cats is concerning then the best thing for people to do would be to adopt them
hello Miu that is an excellent idea! a big problem is that many people abandon the cats and too many are up for needing new homes perhaps we should all do our part
