Isn't this basically the forum anime club anyway? I mean, formalities aside, this thread does fulfill the role that any dedicated club would anyways.

A club allows adding of various Images, Videos, Link Sharing to various news, etc.

Breaking news: Psycho-Pass has been confirmed for a season 2.

...or maybe it's not so breaking since it was 8 days ago.

It's breaking news to me, since I didn't know until just now. Man, I need to go on ANN more.

In other news, the Steins;Gate movie BD comes out December 13th.

But you dont need to have a specific club mechanic for that though. Jagex would just need to relax the forum rules on external content and provide more support for HTML, nothing hard about embedding a video in a forum post.

Well, in a perfect world. Cant say I blame them for covering their asses when it comes to kids though, some parents can get very scary when it comes to preserving their darlings 'innocence and purity' (as though such a thing exists in this world of sme*ually-driven media and violent games), lest they end up warped and corrupted beings like us :P . I'm sure Jagex has better things to do than deal with soccer-moms threatening legal action over a link to content that poisoned their childrens mind.

Reminds me of a story that appeared on ANN a few years back, some lady in the US going nuts trying to get manga banned becasue something her son read at the public library supposedly corrupted him so badly that he had to be sent to the whack-shack for rehabilitation and therapy.

Yeah... Jagex really needs to lax with these rules though. They think everybody on here is like 8 years old and needs protection from the evil Internet.

Anyways, I just got light-blocking curtains for the windows in my room and these are great. I should've gotten them years ago. Now I can watch my animu in the dark all the time and keep cool since all the hot sunlight is blocked out.

^You make it sound as though a club mechanic developed by Jagex would be any different.

And Revive, you know those warnings they used to put at the start of anime telling you to watch in a brightly lit room, they did do those for a reason you know lol. I want some of those curtains for my room though...

And you make it sound like it wouldn't.
If we would point out explanations that would be good enough, they could just be input.

In fact, we already have them.
Check the Website & Forums forum section out a few times, you might be surprised by the posts there. ;)

I make it sound like it wouldn't becasue thats the fact of the matter, it just wouldn't.

You scoff at the idea that Jagex would make the rules more lenient for this open forum, yet your confident that splitting off a subforum (becasue lets face it, thats what a 'club' would be, a player-administrated subforum) would be all it would take for them to allow people to bring in external links and content carte-blanche?

If anything, I would say that its more likley the other way around. At least here the content is open and on display visually, so that it can be easilly moderated and anything inappropriate or dangerous promptly dealt with, rather than in a closed off area were it can remain under the radar so long as the participants in the 'club' are willing to allow for it to do so. The sheer amount of the things that would be created would be a nightmare for Jagex to screen without having to go the 'approval pending' route, which is both a waste of money and time for Jagex + a frustrating experience for users.
