OMG...I just watched Sword Art Online just to see what the hype about it was and all I can say is...WOW. There's two reasons I like this anime. The story line was just great and I honestly think its rating on MAL should be way higher than it is. I also bought a random anime poster online and never knew who the characters were from. I didn't realize it was from SAO until I noticed the Asuna looked exactly like the girl on the poster. I had to think about it for like..2 minutes until I finally got it in my head that the three characters (Asuna, Yui, and Kirito) were from this anime I've been watching this whole time. Point is though, Sword Art Online is definitely worth watching.

Haha, I've seen SAO also.
It was a great anime. Funny enough, it was an anime about a MMORPG like runescape, so that peeked my interest. I was pleasantly surprised when I kept watching and saw waay more quality than I expected. Especially nearing the end of the first arc, that was really good stuff.
I also highly recommend it, especially if you like mmorpgs. Seeing as we all are here, I think that's needlessly said.

SAO was alright in the beginning but after the actual SAO arc it all went downhill. Terrible writing with boring characters. Way overrated. It was enjoyable but at parts just laughably bad so I ended up giving it a 6/10. I would have probably gave it at 7/10 but I hate more since it's so popular and ultimately not that great.

^and that's why our anime compatibility goes down every time I add a new anime :p not going to lie, after he switched games kinda bothered me for like 2 minutes but I got over it and got right back into it so it really didn't bother my score for it. 10/10 for me :)

I mean... If I gave my own opinion, it was just "enjoyable" and a fun watch I suppose. Though looking at it objectively it was just bad and not at all deserving of its popularity.

Btw, why would you buy a random anime poster?

I personally like and rate anime based on how much I enjoyed watching it :p it could have THE worst story line ever but as long as I liked watching it, i'd more than likely give it a 10.

I rate based on how much I enjoyed it too. If I rated objectively, SAO would be like a 3/10 honestly. It just bothers me that it gets so much attention.

I guess when you put "omg so kewl" sword fights and an edgy MC together it's an instant success because people can't appreciate good story telling. *cough* Naruto *cough*

^Lol that naruto thing made me laugh :p but you should know from what I told you a while ago that the female character's appearance also plays a role in it for me :p
