Yeah, it actually is. I don't mind the old art styles, which is the reason why most put off older series. You just have to look at in a different light than you do to today's stuff, and I really like it just as much.
The show I'm watching right now, Galaxy Express 999, is 113 episodes. Aired from 1978 to 1981. The story is great and each episode has a bit to do with philosophy and questioning morality. I'm really anxious to see how it ends, and if it pulls it off well it'll be seeing a 10/10 from me.
Oh and I've only seen the first 12 episodes of Urusei Yatsura which is from 1983. But, it's arguably the funniest anime that I've seen. It also has one of the greatest female leads.
