Mmm, there was an article or two way back when that was supposedly confirmation of a second series, but each time they have either just been hint-drops or have been discredited as jokes by the people who were being interviewed, so none of them hold very much water at all.
The most reliable clue that there will be a second season is in the short 'another epilogue' video. Right at the end it says 'next stage'. That could just be for the sake of the video game motif, but maybe not...

I hope that they do make a second season. I would like to see what happens to all the characters and if they all see each other back in life. The ending of season 1 was a major cliffhanger, which I find annoying. :|

There wouldn't be much of a point making a series to follow the uninteresting lives of the previous series characters reincarnated. If they were gonna make a new series they would set it in the same location with a new cast (though i expect Otonashi would also be there).
And what part did you find cliffhangery about the ending? I re-watched it just the other day (its officially my most re-watched anime series) and i couldn't spot any loose ends.

@Tech: Do you really think it needed more episodes? I know that alot of people said that they needed more episodes to resolve every charcter and whatnot, but i think giving it any more than a few additional episodes, especially episodes focused on one person's melodrama, would have become pretty stale quite fast.

Cliffhang-ery in the sense that Otonashi sees Kanade in the 'real world' and the episode ends with what seems like Otonashi attempting to get Kanade's attention. (If i've remembered that correctly.) Other than that, it was wrapped up nicely.
(Angel = Tachibana Kanade? Or am I thinking of another character?)

No, your correct. He hears her humming 'My Song' and he runs up and taps her on the shoulder, then it fades out. I think with just that little sequence theres enough to figure out what happens from there.
@Dynamic: thats the second time you've ruined FMA on this thread lol.

Fair point. I just thought it would be nice to have a second season showing what they all did after they returned to life.
Also, can someone tell me a little about The IdolMaster? I'm considering watching the anime when it begins to air in like 2 weeks, but I have very little knowledge of what it is about. I read that the anime series will be completely different to the games, so I'm not sure what to expect. Cheers. :)

I just watched the first episode of Natsume's Book of Friends season 3, which was very nice. I am already a fan of the first two seasons and the manga, so I was happy when I read there would be a new season.
For those of you who don't know Natsume's Book of Friends (Natsume Yuujinchou), the story is about a teenage boy named Natsume Takashi who has been able to see spirits, but keeping this ability a secret has become a heavy burden for him and has made his life difficult.
This changes when Takashi inherits his grandmother's "Book of Friends", which allows him to manipulate the spirits listed within its pages. Takashi undertakes a journey with his bodyguard, the infamous spirit Madara, to free the spirits of their contracts.
------
If you're interested in supernatural anime I recommend watching the first episode of the first season, after that you could already start with this season without any problems because the story is episodic. Although I dislike episodic anime this show is different to me. In every episode you get to know the life of a certain spirit (youkai) which is very interesting.
However, if you prefer action-packed anime or dislike slow-paced anime you may find this anime boring.
