@Marineford
Yup, me. Already started taking an online Japanese course so that I can communicate to at least a basic degree. Was planning to get there by the time I turned 20, but that's long been and gone since various things kept making me need to take money out of the holiday fund. I set myself a goal of $6000, got to $2000, had to fix/register/insure my car, back to $600 and now all that's going into a trip to Norfolk Island later this year so that I can return my grandfathers ashes to his homeland. Sigh, ill get there one day lol.
Anywho's, were you planning on going besides the obvious, anime centric parts of Tokyo. Trying to build up a list of both cultural and anime centric locations so that I can do everything while im there, which is the reason I set my goal amount so high. I figure if I take a red-eye flight and stay in a really cheap motel/back of a car then I should be able to stretch my budget pretty far (assuming I dont go crazy and blow it all the moment I arrive in Tokyo lol).
Aside from the obvious landmarks that your meant to visit in Japan, im gonna make something of an anime pilgrimage out of it. Tokyo Tower, that crosswalk that always shows up in Chaos;Head/Steins;Gate (its a real place, found it by accident when I was on Google maps), the town of Shir*kawa (the base for Higurashi's Hinamizawa) and any other more real anime-featured locations that I can think of, i figure thats a good way to see everything.
