^ Yup, and those weeaboos are the reason anime isn't socially accepted.
I try to contain my power level to only my closest friends.
Also don't forget about the narutards who walk around outside with their headbands.

Lol, reminds me of one of my friends, loves Naruto and carries a headband but I think it is probably because his hair is long, otherwise, it would probably cover his eyes. =P

My worst encounter with a weeaboo: I was at a full on Japanese cultural event (aka. NOT an anime convention or cosplay convention) My friend and I were eating, and this girl comes up to us in a Naruto headband, pikachu face paint, like 5 bracelets on each arm and about 3 necklaces, and was wearing some cosplay outfit which I have no idea is from then she asks my friend "Hey can I have some of your sushi." Now I don't know if she was thinking "Oh hey I look so kawaii that no one can turn me down" or is she was actually being sincere. Regardless, the sushi was $20 and friend planned on eating it all so he turned her down.
I really enjoy anime conventions and cosplay conventions, and I always freak out each time I go because it's so fun, and you meet people with similar interests. But this was NOT the time nor the place to be in anime/manga mode. Especially for weeaboos.
Other times at the same event were gothic girls who kept trying to be "kawaii" by running up onto each other and giggling every...single...time...they met. The male weeaboos are also bad when they have styrofoam swords and try to be cool in front of the damn vendors... Just saying, anime and manga is great, but it doesn't make you "Japanese" or "kawaii" or "a knowledge god".

^ There's one around me held every year that I go to. I just go in normal clothes. I think cosplaying can be considered weeaboo, it just depends on who and what, can't really explain it. I especially hate the female land whales that try to fit into skimpy costumes, I'm just like 'wtf are you doing'? And I hate the weird kids that walk around wearing the 'free hugs' sign on their neck.
But, last year there was this one girl that cosplayed Yoko from TTGL... by god was she fine...

^Damn, wish I could've been there for that one.
I've been to a convention only once in my life. I liked it, but my schedule always is conflicting with them. :( In any case, I went in normal clothes for that one. (I don't think I'd make a good cosplayer.)

Very nice story Zoon. I always wanted to go to an anime convention but I might get spooked out when I meet somebody like that girl in your story O_o
I have nothing against weeaboos, they have a passion for anime and all of that stuff. But they do sometimes can go overboard as for example being a wannabe "Japanese person" (Not like cosplay since that is popular in anime conventions, but maybe more serious things) and denying their own culture.
But I do agree with you though

Well Miku, I mean have no problem with people who are passionate about anime/manga/Japanese since I'm that way all the time. My problem is when they think they're better than everyone else when they say dumb things. It appears to me as things like "All Japanese people eat Ramen and nothing else!" and such. Also, (no offense to pro-Americans here) I dislike most of American culture. I accept that I'm American, but I don't necessarily enjoy it. There are positives to it, but I can't stand the negatives.
