Oh and all the final fantasy games.... they are kinda like anime turned into a game, and i think the makers of final fantasy originally made animes.

@Dynamic Hawk, if you haven't watched Detective Conan, you really should. It's pretty old, but it's incredibly popular and all about detectives. (obviously)
And my anime of the year would have to be Mirai Nikki, because it's one of my favorite manga, and Yuno is mai waifu.

My favorite anime of the year is IDOLM@STER.
Glorious ex-Gainax staff collaboration with sweet animation, production values, and direction. Even an episode storyboarded by Kazuya Tsurumaki, aka director of FLCL/Diebuster/Rebuild of Evangelion. Couldn't ask for more.
ps - any other staff list enthusiasts/sakugafriends here? I'm the type of person that gets excited for an anime when I see the list of storyboarders, key animators, director and animation director(s). Plot synopses are lame.
