HB, I would watch FMAB (Brotherhood) first, just a suggestion. However, if you want to finish FMA, then, skip the first 13 eps of Brotherhood otherwise it will seem repetitive. FMA was made before the manga was finished, FMAB follows the manga.

You said "there are no plans" so there still are some possiblities for a new season. Status: "Retired" From RuneScape. May come back to get 99 Slayer in 1 or 2 years.

my god, I stopped watching higurashi after the second season i think.
I can't handle the characters who I start to form a bond with get killed in the worst way possible every couple episodes.

Just finished watching a pretty good series: Rideback
You can find it sub/dubbed on the Funimation website for free!
It's a semi-futuristic anime about people who ride motorcycle/robot hybrids called Ridebacks. There's political controversy and it's a really well done anime. I look forward to hopefully a season 2.

Also, for .hack// fans, Funimation has a 3 episode OVA .hack//QUANTUM as a sub. As a .hack fan, I loved it, but I really wish it had been a full seasoned anime. It felt rushed at times, but was still awesome!

I can't read all what has been previously said and my comment makes about 0% of that so i dunno if anyone said these before me
but i would 100% recommend these animes for insightful people who are willing to watch legendary animes ^_^
Seinen:
ElfenLied (both the anime and the manga, since they differ)
Monster (the anime, it is better)
Shounen:
DeathNote (the anime; the manga is just too long to be read)
Higurashi no naku koro ni (both parts + ost 55 episodes in total)
