So, what does everyone think of the Hollywood remake of the movie Death Note?
Taken from W*kipedia;
In 2007, the Malaysian paper The Star stated that more than ten film companies in the United States had expressed interest in the Death Note franchise.[6] The American production company Vertigo Entertainment was originally set to develop the remake, with Charley and Vlas Parlapanides as screenwriters and Roy Lee, Doug Davison, Dan Lin, and Brian Witten as producers.[19] On April 30, 2009, Variety reported that Warner Bros., the distributors for the original Japanese live-action films, had acquired the American rights for the remake, with the original screenwriters and producers still attached.[20] On January 13, 2011, it was announced that Shane Black has been hired to direct the film, with the script being written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry.[21]

I just hope they dont go down the 'we enhanced the story to make it easier for the general public to relate to' route. Im prepared for the inevitable degree of Americanization, but they better at least make some degree of attempt to stick the original story, or theres going to be riots.
Hopefully they do better than the Japanese versions of the movie, they were pretty horrible and the CG kinda sucked.

Wow, I almost can't believe I knew along the manga Gantz existed but never tried it until now. I read up to the 345th chapter in 3 days o.O And all that time, I've never once lost interest and I've been entertained throughout the whole thing. Its just the kind of dark story I've been waiting for after I've finished Elfen Lied all those years ago...Love it. Can't wait for the next chapter. (btw is it weekly? biweekly? monthly release?)
