Great anime, haven't read the manga
I've gotta say...the visual novel was quite... *ahem* graphic.
Oh well! My sister and my brother-in-law want me to watch Fate/Stay Night and play the visual novel now.

Just finished day two of my 7 day anime bender (im gonna marathon all the DVD's i bought and haven't watched yet till i pass out).
What i just marathoned was Code Geass R2. I get the ending and everything, but it sure got weird once it reached the half way point, so until like maybe the last 5 minutes i didn't have a clue what was going on :P
Uhmm, lesse, whats next...

I'm watching Code Geass R2 too, currently at episode 15. It's a good anime, but sometimes hard to understand what's going on indeed.
By the way, I'm impressed by the size of your anime collection Jesse. :p
I only have 33 manga and a few figures at the moment, but I'm planning to buy anime soon as well.
My opinion on the winter anime so far:
Favourites:
Gosick
Yumekui Merry (Dream Eater Merry)
Also watching:
Freezing
Infinite Stratos
Kimi ni Todoke 2 (From Me to You 2/ Reaching You 2)
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
Dropped after ep. 1:
Rio - Rainbow Gate! (only fanservice, nothing more)
I might drop Infinite Stratos and Freezing after ep. 2.
The story of I.S. is really bad (you should read some reviews about it on ANN and have a good laugh :P ) and I dislike the ecchi fanservice in Freezing (saw way too much pantsu in one episode >.> ).

Just watched the first episode of Gosick. It's ok, probably not for me but I'am gonna wait a couple more episodes before deciding that. It seems likely that I'am gonna drop it eventually.
Not much winter anime caught my attention. Sooo excited for Beelzebub since I'am a huge fan of the manga but other than that I decided to check out Gosick (like I said it was ok), Freezing and Infinite Stratos (gonna watch them later today). And maybe Fractale since the manga is ok. Can't watch any of the new sequals yet since I haven't started the first seasons yet.
All the other ones seem uninteresting or just haven't caught my eye but depending on how popular they get I might check them out.

Eh... ANN'* reviews were... IDK, I disliked what they said about IS:Infinite Stratos, it felt as if they were bashing on the anime. They also seemed to not give it a chance, if I remembered 2 of the critics said to not bother with the anime. Well, that's utter bs to me, give it a chance. It hasn't really shown anything, and gave a bit of information to inform you about the plot and stuff. But, I still respect their opinions.
On the other hand, I watched Freezing earlier, it wasn't too good imo. More of giving out a lot of information, showing action and fanservice (which I do not care for), and introducing some characters. It bored me with what it shown, but I'll give it a chance and decide whether to drop it or not after a few more episodes. Also, it seems to give me the "Togainu No Chi" vibe for some reason.
I didn't plan on watching so many series for Winter 2011, but here's my list of what I will definitely watch:
GOSICK
IS:Infinite Stratos
Beelzebub (waiting for first episode, which is coming out today)
Mahou Shojo Madoka Magica
Fractale (waiting for release on the 13th?)
Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? (waiting for release on Monday)

Watched the first Yumekui Merry ep.
Interesting yes, andI like the way they change the visual style, but in regard to story i thought it felt a little bit to infodumpy about the wrong things (or wrong timings) and to vague in things that probably should have been more heavily addressed.
I would however predict that this is because i read the first volume of the manga so i kinda already know whats going to happen for the first three or so episodes. Ill defiantly still watch it, but i dont think much of the method of storytelling.
And now thats two anime;s from the new season watched. One of the things i noticed so far is that in both of these two shows, you see the titular characters with no clothing on before they even introduce them to the viewer....

I never give much recognition to the ANN reviewers. I personally reckon they have been in the game to long and that core concept of "enjoying the anime" has fallen out of the bottom for them.
Its like, i was listening to the new podcast the other night where they where dissecting Kanon, and i thought to myself "its not meant to be analyzed geniuses. Just turn your brain off to the technical aspects and enjoy the world as its presented to you. I guess thats why moe works for me, i let myself get sucked in and manipulated because its more entertaining that way.
I sometimes wonder if what Yuri says in the first episode of Angel Beats wasn't just targeted at Otoniashi, but viewership as a whole. "Try to be more flexible. Just accept things as they are" . Good advice.

But anywho's, hourou musuko starts on the 14th (At 1.15am to be precise). Supposedly there was an advanced screening four days ago, i cant find it though...
