If I prefer sub/dub it usually goes on a case by case basis. Shows that are obviously not meant to be set it Japan and has little to no Japanese culture in it are usually better with a dub. But when you've got shows where the people are obviously meant to be from Japan or Japanese it just makes more sense for it to be Japanese.
All of the above doesn't matter at all though when I'm watching newly airing shows I always get fansubs. People being used to watching fansubs for new shows is why dubs get all the hate usually. People don't like it when somethings different to what their used to. I agree with your theory Jesse.
Though it doesn't apply to everyone and everything it applies in most cases.

Me Now Newb,
I would strongly advise you to not recommend adult material like that here or anywhere else on the forums. RuneScape is made up of players of all ages and nationalities, anything posted on these forums must not be offensive or upsetting.
I also prefer subbed, I totally agree on Jesse's post on page 161. I don't think I have more to add to that.
This season was my first anime season (I started watching anime in June) and I must say I really liked this season. These are my favourites of Fall 2009:
Bakuman (still airing)
Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai
Shiki
Other good series:
Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge
Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai
Kuragehime (don't ask >.> )
Otome Youkai Zakuro
Shin*yaku! Ika Musume
I also watched a few ecchi series, but they're not worth mentioning. Still need to watch the second season of Toaru Majutsu no Index.
I'm looking forward to the new season!

Just found new news about Hellsing OVA VIII which was expected to be out 6 months ago. Now it looks like it'll be out in Spring 2011 in Japan. There's also a cam recording of a new trailer floating around if anyone's interested in seeing it.
hey guys, i got a question for you.
Ive been chatting with a japanese guy i met online who's looking at the viability of opening up a japanese export website. At the moment he's looking to see what sort of products people would want to get from japan, so i told him i would ask here.
So yeah, thats the question. Assuming the postage prices were not a factor, what sort of things would you be interested in importing from japan?
With the lack of knowing Japanese.. I'd probably just say things like OST's and merchandise maybe. Also anything like English subbed anime, which I know is rare to find legally or any other English media/merchandise that isn't already available in stores would be cool.
I've never had anything imported though so these are just idea on what I'd be interested in if prices weren't an option as well as postage.
He'd have to be selling stuff fairly cheap if he wanted to do well though. Otherwise everyone will just stick with one of the million of other sites you can buy stuff off of these days.

"Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai"
Might have watched this, though I clicked on a shorter version of the name...
I also agree with 161's post of Jesse! Yet, I have no idea why people are using the mainstream anime as a source of dub vs sub anime. I simply loved the job with Code Geass dubbing. It got me into anime.
Looking for a sensible first not dubbed anime, not Sola... >_>

If I could have some of the thing in Japan? I am guessing you can't send people and a translator over...It would have to be some music from there.
Like B Boy said, there are already a lot of those websites. I would be interested if his prices are cheaper than the rest.
For example, the only import website in my country sells nendoroid figures for €45 (that's $60!), which is way too expensive if you ask me. It's the same with other merchandise, so I'm interested in Japanese export websites that're selling merchandise like pvc figures.
@Merry: You might know the abbreviation Oreimo. For those who know the English name, don't judge by the title.
