There are many anime about there that are quite impressive and creative works.

But it does not stop me from critiquing that anime breeds s_3_x_al p_e_r_v__er__t__s and pedos.

How does it do this? It s_3_x_ualizes the female characters within the story, and does not refrain from doing so with female characters who have prepubescent bodies ie flat chest etc.

^ I'd have to disagree. Anime doesn't "breed" pedos. If you like little girls in real life, you're going to like them in anime. Pedos already exist and they can use anime and other 2D works to satisfy their desires instead of actual real little girls. Which I would think this is a good thing, right?

A 10 year old girl in an anime, let's be honest, doesn't really look like she's 10 half the time anyway. They illustrate them with womanly features yet with a childish purity which is why they're easy to find attractive, and that doesn't necessarily make you a ****. Hell, I love lolis in anime myself but in no way do I find real life little girls attractive. The thought of that makes me feel a little uneasy.

@ YouLiveToDIE: Spirited Away hasn't bred any pedos... Maybe if you stuck to good animes and realized that every genre and country produces trash as well as masterpieces, you wouldn't feel the need to state what should be obvious... Most American television today focuses mostly on who's sleeping with who, and is to worth going anywhere near...

@Jesse

I've tried multiple times to get an anime wallpaper for my desktop, but my computer for whatever reason does not allow me to change my background. Even if I did, I doubt anyone would care, most people that know me know I watch anime and my family is already silently accepting that I have a Madoka Magica wall scroll in my room and even a place to display my box sets for the anime I've purchased.

So yeah, I don't think a wallpaper would be that much more surprising.

Hmmm, maybe my family are just weird then. They don't pay much attention to the DVD's I buy (probably just don't want to know how much I'm spending) but every time I put up a piece of anime related paraphernalia I tend to attract weird looks from my parents. I'm already aware that they are both under the impression that anime is nothing but 53x and gore (and I have this straight from the horses mouth) but still....

Maybe its because alot of my anime-related non-media paraphernalia is related to Kudryavka Noumi and they are worried I don't possess the standard appreciation of b00bs that is normal for men my age :P .

@YouLiveToDlE:

And your telling us that western media dosent 53xualize its females, have you looked at the music industry lately? Next you'll be telling us that violent video games breed murderers.

@Jesse: I see, I see, you're a DFC man? That's understandable. Just tell your parents that the bigger they are, the more they'll sag with age.

On another note, I would highly suggest to anybody not watching Psycho-Pass to go do so now. This show is superb, depending on how it ends it could possibly get a 10/10 out of me and that's no easy feat.

@Jesse: My parents are the same, though I don't understand why your parents would be concerned about your appreciation of *******. Sure, mine were surprised when I began writing a story in which the protagonist was a specifically mentioned "flat-chested" girl, but they weren't concerned about it. Perhaps they're more concerned about how she looks like a child.

@Earnshaw: Yep, just heard about it, really wish I had enough money to buy a plane ticket to Japan. As for Japanese... I'd cram for 1872 hours straight if I could go see it.

@Revive: Oh yeah, I heard about that one. I never looked too much into it since I was already watching a lot of currently airing stuff, but I'll certainly check it out.

Edit: Keep on forgetting how annoying rs forums' censor is...
