Kakegurui started. I've only seen the OP so far. Which is amazing, in my opinion.

Wasn't interested in the series previously. I might consider watching it now.

I'm shocked Symphogear has gotten so many seasons. I remember when it first aired it wasn't very well received.... at least by Western audiences.
The first season was a bit of a mess admittedly.

The one conclusion I can draw after watching the series' is that the writer is a fan of Lyrical Nanoha. It goes much deeper than just the surface of Magical girl/Mecha mix. The lore of the universes are constructed strikingly similar, yet at the same time, one can't consider Symphogear to be a rip-off of Lyrical Nanoha. Symphogear easily stands on it's own.

Probably the biggest issue is Symphogear tends to go all over the place. On the surface, it is extremely chaotic, and doesn't seem all that thought out. But if you look into the actual world building, there is a level of brilliance I haven't seen in a long time.

From what I'm reading AX is a complete shitshow this year, with people spending 5 hours in line waiting to receive their badges then another 2 hours to enter the convention center. Apparently a San Diego anime con is reorganizing itself so if that gets up and running it'll make my life a lot easier in the future.

Im happy that attack on titain is back on.

Although I wish they would make season 3 for Sword Art online already in english Dubb
Bit hard for there to be a dub seeing as SAO season 3 hasn't even released yet. But yeah, I'm waiting for that one too. The Alicitation arc of the novels is by far the best arc, truly the culmination of the entire series.

Left at 4:45, drove through a border checkpoint at 5:30, arrived at 6:30, received my badge at 7:15, entered the convention center at 8:00, then waited near the front of a line for the exposition hall to open until 10:00...you spend a fuckload of time just waiting in line at AX. Queueing outside a room for the screening? No, you're actually supposed to stand outside on colored tape with no signage and volunteers who are worse than useless. The convention, I sense, is horrificly mismanaged by lack of coordination and over-reliance on people who receive essentially zero training.

The expo hall at least was pretty cool, tons of shit but not much that caught my eye, and it got really fucking packed as the day went on. So many people crammed into the room that you couldn't really move without bumping elbows. Flipped through some books of cells but the Gundam content was just Kai, Mirai, and some Wing garbage, Trigun cells were lame, there were a few Big O cells I liked but couldn't really justify spending $80/ea on, and the Cowboy Bebop cells were of course $200+. Bought a Kuromukuro shirt from the Pony Canyon stall to support original mecha anime. Pic related is my small haul:

Didn't see much weaponized autism, most attendees were younger than me, but if you wear a shirt with panels from hentai doujins even ironically it's probably time to consider suicide.

Honestly it wasn't all that great but I'll give it another shot next year.

Oh yeah, and there was a professionally-built Gunpla stall where the cheapest models started at $180. Impeccably panel lined and painted but who the fuck would throw that kind of cash at a single kit. The centerpiece of their exhibit was a customized PG Strike Freedom listed at a modest $20,000.
