The whole 'saturday mornign cartoon' argument is kindof a pointless one though, seeing as that was how a majority of anime were originally brought over tothe US. Sonic X, Pokeomon, Dragonball, Speed Racer, Cardcaptor Sakura, Yu-gi-oh. All of these were anime brought over as saturday morning cartoons, and they have the same build as things like Teen Titans.

And for the whole 'lets sell some merchandise' feel, what do you think Bakugan, Beyblade, Pokemon, CArdfight Vanguard, Battle B-damon, Buddyfight, and others like them were. Their entire reason for existing was to promote a product. As a matter of fact, without said product, they wouldn't even exist.

To me, Things such as Ben 10 Alien force and Avatar have always given the feel of an anime. They aren't anime in the manner of they are from japan, but they are made in the manner of anime, and their presentation is one of an anime from Japan.

Ultimately the point of a word is for it to mean something. In this case there is a pretty clear-cut definition. We can compare and contrast Teen Titans with... I dunno, KonoSuba or something, for the next 700 pages, but in the end if you were to say "Teen Titans is an anime" you'd just confuse people.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

Never cared about the distinction between anime and cartoons. I just personally filed them under the broader term of animation.

On a different note.

When does the BD of Kizumonogatari part III release? I remember someone saying either in June or July.

I recently picked up the physical version of Bakemonogatari part III LN as it was officially released.

I also cannot wait for Owarimonogatari's continuation.

It is not an American word, nor is it a word with Japanese roots. It is a straight up Japanese word, the meaning of which you have chosen to ignore because it suits some pretentious elitist ideal along the lines of a katana isn't a katana unless it is forged in Japan.
You're the one ignoring both meanings. If you were using the Japanese definition then you'd include Wallace and Gromit and The Lion King as examples of anime. If you were using the English definition then we wouldn't be having this discussion.

In English, anime is a reborrowed word used to refer to a specific genre of animation (i.e. Japanese). This is how language works, please stop digging yourself into a hole.

Also included are god tier works such as the animated batman series and scooby doo.

Still waiting for a Legend of the Galactic Heroes 2017 Promo vid. If they go full CG I'm gonna loose all hope. Wouldn't mind CG in the space battle scenes though. “Loddfafnir, listen to my counsel: You will fare well if you follow it, It will help you much if you heed it. The US or the Japanese release? Japanese release should be out by the end of July, US release probably won't be out until at least November, likely December. The US screening was only last month, and the volume 2 bluray US release was only just a few days ago.
