Fast forward to the School Festival. Theres a tradition at the school where one of the classes, the girls set up a room in one of the classroms, built into one of the exhibits, where the girls of the school are to take the boy they arewanting to be with, and "Consumate their love". At the end of the school festival, during the bonfire party, there is another tradition, where the girl and guy pair who dance together, will become a couple.(this one is more of a superstition of sorts, though it is seen as where the gu shooses which girl he likes.)
Now then, at the time of the school festival, both Sekai and Kotonaha had asked Makoto to dance with them at the bonmfire dance. At this point, Makoto still hadn't told Kotonaha he didn't want to go out with her.
Now then during the school festival, the childhood friend of Makoto's who was at the school, took him to the back room I mentioned before, and proceeded to have sex with him. Kotonaha had mentioned this room to Makoto as well, and had been waiting for him, hoping to have him prove his love for her. Duing the Bonfire dance that night, Kotonaha sees Makoto dancing with Sekai, and ends up in a stae of listless denial. Taking advantage of this, a classmate of Makoto's, who Makoto saw as a friend, proceeds to take advantage of this situation, and rapes Kotonaha in that back room.
From there, things continue to spiral out of control, until we reach the final scenes with what School Days the VN is infamous for.
