So an adaptation of the Cardcaptor Sakura sequel manga Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen has just been announced. Coming in January 2018. The manga itself started July of this year. Leader of The Enemy ||

I stopped watching Cardcaptor Sakura over a decade ago, so I've probably missed loads and loads of whatever they've animated.

Is there too much to even begin again?

That's the way I feel about the series that have hundreds of episodes like One Piece.

Cardcaptor Sakura only had the one series, at a total of 70 episodes and two movies. So this series they are planning is the first in over 15 years. Leader of The Enemy ||

It's not like they could realistically get One Piece's levels of episodes out of the CCS manga in the first place, considering it's only 12 volumes from start to end. The anime is super fillerized as it is compared to the manga, since it expanded the 19 original cards into a full 52 card deck + 1 in the movie, but it's a rare type of good filler.

I've read the first few chapters of the new series, but I' going to wait until the anime comes out to consume the whole story. I'm a little aprehansive about them going back and tampering with something that's been 'fimished' for so long and which is already so good, but if they can do what they did before I'll be a very happy man considering CCS was my first anime.
