Okay. So my theory here is based around the Holy Elemental Lord, Ren Ashdoll, the Great Spirit War, Demon King Solomon, Areshia, Est, and her reasons for contracting with both Kamito and Areshia.

Okay. As we know the Great Spirit War was fought between two factions. The Darkness Elemental Lord, Ren Ashdoll, and the Allied Elemental Lord forces. There were also spirit's such as Est which chose to not side with either group, and would end up killing massive amounts on both sides.

A theory I came up with a while back was that the reason the Spirit war took place was because at the time the Elemental Lords were already corrupted by the Otherworldy Darkness, and Ren Ashdoll was waging war against them because they were corrupted. I aalso theorized at the time that the Holy Elemental Lord was the one who had corrupted them.

Now if the Holy Elemental Lord had corrupted them, that would mean that they would have not been alligned with either of the two factions, but ratther would have been sitting on the side watching things.

Now what if the spirits who chose not to pick sides during the war such as Est knew of this, and that is why they didn't side with either group.

Now the Sacred Maiden we learned is something that was put into place as a safegaurd to oppose the Darkness Elemental Lord. Normally, a spirit such as Est who chose to not side with either group wouldn't join up with the Sacred Maiden to oppose the Darkness Elemental Lord.

But as we learned in Volume 17, Solomon had actually made a contract with the Holy Elemental Lord. So what if the reason Est made the contract with Areshia was because the Holy Elemental Lord had conttracted with Solomon.

Now. In Volume two at the true shrine in the mining town, Est said "Here stands Ren Ashdoll, the sixth Elemental Lord whose Existense was erased from history"

This shows that she really did know that the Darkness Elemental Lord was sleeping within Kamito when she contracted with him at the shrine. So once again, she chose to side with a party, which she had not done during the spirit war.

Now in Volume one, when Kamito had asked her why she contracted with him after turing down so many previous attempted contracts, she told him "You seemed similar to me".

Now three years prior, Kamito had done something. He had freed the Water Elemental Lord.

Now my theory is this. Est as a spirit wepoan is an existence created to oppose te Holy Elemental Lord. In the same manner that the Sacred Maiden is meant to counteract the re-incarnation of the Darkness Elemental Lord, Est is meant to counteract and defeat the Holy Elemental Lord. In Doing so, this will destroy the Otherwordly Darkness as it is a construct brought about by the Holy Elemental Lord.

That is how it will end. With the death of the Holy Elemental Lord using Est, thus freeing the remaining two Spirit Lords, and fully destroying the Otherworldy Darkness.
