There is probably some that are loosely based off of it, but I'm not sure if there are any that follow it extremely closely.

Ikkitousen and Koihime Musou (which I both love) are the only ones that comes to mind. Both of which definitely aren't what you would be looking for I do not think.

(Edit - Found one, but I haven't seen it. It's called: Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi)

My enjoyment from this season has come from Flip Flappers and Keijo. I was going to watch that dark magical girl series too, but I have to be in a certain mood for stuff like that.

As for Dragon Ball. I've been playing Xenoverse 2 a lot. I also watched the first like 12 episodes of Super and thought it was really poor, not sure if I can stomach more.

I'll be rewatching Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z at some point too.
