It's like the studio is just skipping through plot points and introductions as fast as they possibly can without taking the time to construct a narrative with them or present the in a way that befits the story being told. It's basically the same complaint I leveled at Little Busters, only this time they are taking the VN verbatim AND chopping stuff out. Likewise, stop with the game BGM already, you don't have to use it for every scene. At least they remembered to include the Key Coffee reference, that must be in the contract nowdays.


As for the ongoing commentary on the Horror genre, I have to agree that anime really isn't a great medium for horror. The best anime horrors tend to be the ones that combine it with other elements and just include the horror tag for it's themes rather than being overtly good as a result of horror (aka gore) in their own right.

Japanese horror is way too psychologically based "All men are jealous and stupid, and all women are stupid to be happy about it, idiots are everywhere you look…"

Is that not the best kind of horror though? I mean, most horror is a case of 'lets see how many dumb American teenagers we can kill in the next hour and a half' which is really pretty dull when you not the kind of person who experiences fear from something on a screen.

Not sure what Shuffle has to do with anything, completely different company and that was like...in 2005. But yes, Rewrite got an anime adaptation that started about two says and it's doing it's best to break the sound barrier.

I watched Planetes and Kaiba a few years ago, Kaiba in particular might benefit from another viewing since I only remember enjoying it but at the time not having a desire to see it again. Preferences learn toward sci-fi/military/fantasy (which is why Xam'd is on the table), but I don't might watching other genres or things I've seen before. SoL doesn't tickle my pickle though so Aria's out.

Its just me mixing things up in my head is all. Go through enough Vn's and things can start to run together.

On that note, what do you think the chances are of Shinig*mi no Testament getting an adaptation? That and the next vn in the Sengoku Rance series?(To be honest, I'm still a bit ticked it was Pink Pineapple, a hentai company that picked up Quest for Hikari. The Sengoku Rance series has amazing story, but a lot of potential was lost by it being a hentai.) Leader of The Enemy ||

About as much a chance as anything else I guess. Wouldn't mind seeing a proper Rance series, though it does lose something if he's not trying to bone every woman in sight lol.

In other news, the Kodomo no Jikan kickstarter was successfully funded, and I'm still amazed at how much vehement hate people can have for a piece of media. Clearly these are the ones that have never actually been to Japan and seen just how deep the rabbit hole really goes.
