I don't think any company cares whether the series was good or not when deciding on making sequels or remakes. Only if they can turn a profit selling Blu-rays and merchandise while avoiding paying any writing staff by making adaptions the majority of the time.

How do you to figure? Essentially everything they have done is an adaption. Kara no Kyoukai, F/SN, Fate/Zero, Manabi Straight etc. are all adaptions. F/SN while it got a remake the original sucked. None are yet to get a second season.
