I'de sooner just put it all in the mail and post it if I was going to buy anything questionable. On an X-ray scanner it all just looks like any other piece of media, but that doesn't help if you get your bag turned out at the airport. I'll be going into Australia, and we've got an iron border as far as customs is concerned, so....

I also need to consider the fact that they thought my travel activity was suspicious enough to warrant a search when I got here. It was like you see on TV, got dragged off to the back room and my bags unpacked and swabbed. The scrutinized every little thing in there, right down to random subway tickets at the bottom.

I make a point of only locally storing things that I can use a defense of 'contains artistic merit' for. 'It's not P()rn your honor, it's art'. Though I will grant, that's also the defense people use so they can post images of their 'equipment' on DeviantArt.

Well anyway, I'm back from the Key thing and about 14,000 yen poorer. Bought 2 CD's and and 4 artbooks. One of the books makes up more than half of that at 8,000 yen (don't tell my mother) limited edition, individually serial numbered, box-cased, high quality photopaper, A3 sized book of Na-Ga's artworks. There's just something about the joining of the words 'Key' and 'Limited Edition' that makes me want to part with money. Plus there's something alluring about the idea of being like... one of only 3 non-Japanese people to have one that I like.

But since Kud Wafter is a thing...well... there's questionable item number 1 lol.

In all other parts of the world, an action ends when there's only one bidder. In Akiba, auctions end when the auctioneer decided that if it goes on any longer, the bidders will bankrupt themselves and their descendants for years to come in the unlikely event they ever have any. A good crash course in counting to thirty-something thousand in Japanese at any rate :P
