If you compare every average series to the best series, that would make them seem bad. If you compare Naruto to everything that is out, it would be a good series considering there is much worse.

That is where you're mistaken. That would make episodic anime bad. Now Naruto isn't episodic but it just a series that shouldn't be judged for it's plot because it delivers great entertainment on several more areas.
If you want I can give more examples of well developed characters in Naruto, but those two just really stand out. Bit awkward to judge the series on just an example of mine...=/

You mean [C] The power of *something......*? Good series but I didn't really like it after episode 8 because it tried to wrap things up quickly instead of the slowpace combined with character development it used to have....Of course, NoitaminA always offers a good watch (except, maybe Fractale =/)
