Isn't that the case with pretty much everywhere though?
I'm long over the whole 'shame' of anime that I had back when I was getting into it at around 14. It used to be really hard for me to take manga up to the counter at the book store and I just about died of shame tripping over the Japanese names of this or that when I was asking after some series at the local JB-Hifi. I guess it's just a thing you get used to. My mother still thinks of anime as 'those violent, dirty cartoons', but she doesn't worry to much that I display it all loud and proud in a book case in my study.
Well, most if it. I'm not so far down the rabbit hole that I'm willing to put ALL of my anime-related stuff on open display. There will come a day when somebody decides to flip through my collection of artbooks that's om the bottom tier, and that will be awkward enough, but the things in cardboard box in the closet are somewhat beyond that in terms of bad taste. Stuff like hentai and dakimakura covers and stuff that I've never actually bought on their own, all of it came as extras in VN's and Japanese magazines (which I bought for a specific extra) and the like, but I couldn't see the sense in getting rid of it all...
Subject of the box of shame, it'll probably be getting some new residents soon. Been looking at the Angel Beats VN on Sofmap (it's up for pre-order) and becasue I'm me I'm basically obliged to get the first press edition. Some of those extra's though...
In a largely unrelated story though, F&%# this season...
Maybe I've just been at this to long, I dunno, but I made up my mind that i was going to watch more anime this season, including the trashy light novel adaptations (3 of which sound almost exactly the same) but I just cant do it. I'm at this point where I can be like 'guy falls into b00bs in 3...2...1...' and it'll happen right on que, then I'll roll my eyes, sigh, and realize that I've gotten old without my noticing...
