Woah, cool it. No need to get hostile. There are American animes , Google it. While they aren't new and fancy, they did/do exist. My apologies that animes don't consume my time.

P.S. animes .

Let's call him a weeb, that'll show him!

As if this discussion has anything to do with any part of the anime fandom, more so your inability to comprehend the English language. Let's read the definition of "anime" again. I'll post it for you this time.

"a style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed at adults as well as children."

Let's edit out the part of my last post where I call him a weeb, as not to make myself look like the belligerent fool I am!

I figured the weeb comment was a bit harsh. I try to be sassy, not rude.
Alright, You can say your fancy definitions as much as you want, but it doesn't change the fact that American made animes exist.
You really like talking about English. I added an adjective (American) to a noun ( animes ). That, my dear friend, is fine use of the English language.
Here's the definition of a noun and adjective:
Noun: a word (other than a pronoun) used to identify any of a class of people, places, or things common noun, or to name a particular one of these proper noun.
Adjective: a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it.

Why do you keep inferring American anime exist? By definition anime is strictly Japanese. The term "anime" is the Japanese equivalent of "animation," which means all sorts of animation could be called anime to any native Japanese speaker. However the term has been adopted by other languages to refer strictly to animation made just in Japan. With the current definition of anime, the notion that it's possible for any country outside of Japan to produce anime is completely erroneous.

As to the reason why animes isn't a word, it's simply because anime is already plural. You wouldn't say sheeps to indicate more than one sheep would you?

In case you missed it.
No point in saying African-American by your logic.

,
friend. "American animes " means a Japanese style cartoon made in the good ol' United States of America. If you want to be politically correct, Canada and Mexico, too! Not to mention all of the countries in Central and South America!

I most certainly would not say "sheeps," but you can bet your gosh darn
jolly
jingle
dingle dangle I'll say animes .

You're missing your own point. "African-American" describes a person with African heritage born in the US and who has likely never even been to Africa. You wouldn't call an African-American an African, likewise, "American anime" is not anime.

Thank you Icy. This discussion was becoming tedious for me, and I was just about to give up after reading his last post.

I remember you commenting on the sound of Knights of Sidonia (I think?). Watching it right now and it truly is glorious, story and atmosphere is too. I've been binge watching everything that came out in 2014 and I'm nearly caught up with every show up to this current season. Sidonia is definitely a highlight of the year.

You just helped me! American animes were not made in Japan, but they were born from the ways of Japan. This ain't over yet, dinguses.
