It's a joke I think. Fate/Stay Night VN is very serious for the most part with some comedic elements. Is there a anime for? I think Zero is set before Stay Night.. and Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya is a spin-off.

I started with the novel myself.

Yeah, F/SN was the original production, F/Z a prequel and F/KLPI a spin-off. It's certainly a joke within the context of the F/whatever universe, but I more meant whether it's taking itself seriously as an orthodox magical girl series or whether it's taking the parody route.

might as well wait for **** 2014 Jesse instead of doing the original. fate/zero is awesome though defo worth the watch

a new story outside of the original work according to mal though still with the stay/night characters. supposed to be closer to fate/zero in terms of atmosphere animated by UFOtable who also did fate/zero so its going to look damn good

Basically it seems like its going to be a more fitting sequel to fate/zero

Admittedly, when the show when non-actiony, non-funny and non-servicy (subject of service, Jesus H Christ that first DVD/BD special, awkward...) it could be a little dull, but hardly enough to mar it so badly as to deserve quite that many Z's. Just enjoy it like I do, as an exercise in cuteness and occasional maid abuse :P

And yeah, I know about the remake that supposedly coming down the pipe, but I really would rather get on it now that I'm actually interested in watching them. I'll watch the remake when it comes out.
