So Attack on Titan is going to be on Toonami, and maybe I'll finally get around to watching it over the summer since everyone seemed to like it. I hope it wasn't just over-hyped and is actually interesting.

As for Mekakucity, I liked the first episode for the most part. It wasn't spectacular, but eh, few things are these days. I'll be interested to see where it goes. Truth be told I'm not a fan of the Kagerou Project, but for the amount of hype it's getting, I might as well watch some of it before I start claiming it's way over-hyped (like a few anime from the past couple of years).

I watched it a few months after it was done so far waitin' on season 2 that, and High School DxD s3. I could see why it was so popular what's not more fun then action 'n' gore? I wont re-watch it on Toonami because I don't like dubbed since most dubbed anime's suck (not all of them). Also have you seen Clanned?

My one, and more or less only thought on Mekaku City is 'Shinbo'. If that man has anything to do with the project, then watching it is more or less obligatory for me. His success rate for me thus far is quite high, well above any other anime director (about 70% success rate out of the things I've seen).

The bigger conundrum for me this season is Black Bullet. The story is, so far, cliche and illogical (even applying anime logic) and frankly kind of boring. However, on the other hand, loli.

Or to elaborate, I like Enju as a character. High level of cute (which as we are all aware is a selling point for me) aside, she sits well inside the bounds of a personality archetype that I like and enjoy watching, and makes me wish the series was just a Slice of Life Sorta Romance not quite love triangle vs the childhood friend with the b00bs who is wearing a school uniform alot for no reason type series, rather than what it is. Alas, it's not, so lets see if one character I like is enough to keep me watching a series (it's happened before...).

Ah, I thought something about the animation in Mekakucity seemed familiar, I just didn't put two and two together.

Yeah, Black Bullet is a conundrum for me as well. It's not bad, per se, and I too like Enju a lot, I feel like there's some good back story there. I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to as illogical, but I have a feeling it has to do with all the little girls being the only cursed children and not any little boys. That bothered me at first too, but since this a science fiction anime, I can't help but think it has something to do with the X and Y chromosomes (although it's more likely that the creators just did it because everyone loves little girls). Just a thought. In any case, yes, it's cliched (I hate the implied love triangle crap), yes, I find it kinda boring at this point myself, but I'll keep watching just to see if it goes anywhere.... and of course for the loli main character.

What's so illogical about a parasite/virus that turns small insects into invulnerable gigantic mutants hungry for human flesh or that the masked bad guy wants to kill off the rest of humanity because he could somehow profit from that scenario?

Lets not kid ourselves; Black Bullet sucks.

Oh, no doubt. As stated above, I'm only watching it for Enju, but there's still worse out there...

I can live with the more outlandish aspects of the story. Those are the parts of the narrative, which as far as I'm concerned can do whatever it wants as long as it keeps to it's own internal structure, not anything to do with logic.

What I meant more about being illogical is that at this point the series is very much 'such and such is the case because reasons' without taking the time to justify those reasons to the viewer. I can let the whole 'they are all girls' things slide becasue you CAN apply some sort of reasoning to that (although, of course, the fact that they wanted to make them all girls for the sake of merchandising doubtless came first and any reasoning to that effect came later, if ever, since it really is just an arbitrary detail) it's other stuff like:

-Why are Cursed Children the only means of defeating the beasties when the series clearly states a specific metal makes an effective weapon against them/ halts their regeneration.

-Why is 'the last hope for humanity' privatized rather than being operated and co-ordinated by government.

-If Cursed Children are created by the virus entering the mouth of a pregnant woman, and the virus is transmitted by fluid exchange, how is the mother not being turned into a gribbly long before the child is born? Likewise, how does the infected fetus stabilize the virus.

-Seeing as the main character and the childhood friend/boss girl both seem to have a job, do they actually go to school? If not, why is the girl always wearing a school uniform (it just bugs me...)

These are just a few of them, there are more, but you get the point.
