After finally going on a cruise to Norway ( originally planned for May 2020 ) the main "souvenir" we came home with is Covid.
We had managed to stay infection free for 2 and a half years! We wore masks in the busy areas and in the lifts but the majority of people didn't bother. At least we became ill at the end of the holiday so we only missed the at sea day. We were confined to our room until last night when we were moved to the quarantine area so they could sanitise our room ready for new passengers. We had to stay in that much smaller cabin until we were escorted off the ship the next morning by staff in protective gear. They were spraying the air behind us. They moved people one cabin at a time. We couldn't leave until everyone else had disembarked. There were quite a lot of people in the same situation judging by the number of tables outside doors in the quarantine area. edit to add the tables were for the breakfast trays to be put down on as no-one was allowed in the room with us.
So far I feel like I have a nasty cold and I need to take paracetamol but my husband's cough is starting to sound more chesty. Of course he insists that he is OK

We are still recovering. I developed a bad sore throat which is finally getting better but the worst symptom at the moment is feeling light headed and dizzy. We bought a pulse oximeter which arrived today. It was reassuring to see my O2 level is OK
