There have been countries that did wipe out Covid from the community, Australia being one of the populated countries to do so - the population of my whole country New Zealand can fit into the population of Sydney. So larger denser countries can wipe out Covid, to do so takes a lot of work from the people, each and every citizen no matter where you are on the ladder of life.

To keep Covid out boarders need to be closed, people need to go into 14 days of quarantine with two negative results before being released back into the community <- this is basically the only way to do it.

I am not sure how Covid got back into Australia's community, I do know that Australia isn't the only country to wipe out Covid to be reinfected with it. It only takes one infected person to somehow get Covid back into the community and spread and because it can take a couple of weeks for the symptoms to come out it can spread like wildfire.

One mistake New Zealand is doing is having a traveling bubble with Australia, so they can come in without going into quarantine - this is how Covid is going to get into our country again :/

It should be indefinite. For the next year or so quarantine should be a must for all travellers to keep our country safe and businesses open and running. I'm not saying close the border at all, just quarantine and two negative results.
