Guys, honestly. If we had a Woodcutting skill and never a fire making one and someone suggested it, you would react the exact same way.

''That could never be a standalone skill. Pshhh. Making fires? That's the most boring thing I have ever heard in my life. Just add it on to woodcutting. It doesn't need to be its own skill.''

This skill has so much potential!

If you kill a cow you would still get your lousy piece of beef and some little ole bones, those items would still be dropped on death. But your not using the full potential of the cow.

Just imagine! You grab its carcass and take it over to a butchers table, whip out your dragon butcher's knife, tell the guy standing next to you with a d2h,

''That's not a knife, this is a knife!''

and then start hacking away at it. You get extra meet, some big bones, extra cowhide, and even some hoofs to give to your faithful canine companion!

You could cut the claws off a dragon's carcass and get a new weapon. You cut open the stomach and loot it from all the undigested jewelry and armor from the countless adventurers he has eaten. Or you slit open the dragons throat and take the Dragon stone they create their fire with. I don't know, just be creative people!

Organs as fishing bait for faster fishing, new Herblore ingredients to find, new armors to create, more xp to be gained! I could do this all day! The possibilities are endless! It could tie into so many skills!

I think this is an amazing idea and wish JaGeX could see the potential in it.

Good work m8, keep it up.

Just had the idea. Rufus from Canifis would definitely have the skill cape. The whole town of could be focused around the new skill. Seems as the are werewolves and all.

I think the vast majority of different meats and things added would be items which end up on the side, obsolete. Besides - cooking in itself needs to be reworked to fill in all those "dragon steaks" and all that and reposition all the sharks and rocktails that are currently in the cooking requirements. Sure - this could be some sort of combat approach to cooking instead of having to get all your raw unprepared food from farming or fishing, but as another skill which would be taking weeks of tears of guthix XP, it seems more like a chore than fun.

You people should check out the post "Spicing up bland skills?" by Tomiko-Sama in the same part of the forums. Seeing as we're waiting for the eastern lands to appear, that approach to making a new part of cooking could be more exciting and applicable.
