LOL you are a genius. I was just coming here to post that exact same thing (however, I wasn't going to post the QFC unless the OP agreed to it). Tsk Tsk on you. You shouldn't do that (posting QFCs) without permission as it is considered hijacking other players' threads.
But I believe these two ideas could be combined in some fashion.

firemaking shouldn't be removed. i'd like some kind of skill which adds this butchery, skinning and other refining things to a skill. something like umm... skinning? eviscerating?refining? another name but something like that. where you skin chickens to get feathers. and remove feathers from the drop list, so basically, feathers are 100% from chickens if you use the new skill, otherwise, 0%. you would get the other drops, and a corpse would stay until you "process" the chicken with the new skill, taking the feathers. better skill lvl, better feather "harvest". this could be easily done to many different creatures, like dragons, to get their skin, and many others.
once the skill is a bit more "refined", ill support. xD just add me to the supporters list though

I see that you have posted comments on another skill suggestion (referenced here on the previous page) and in that post mentioned this skill suggestion, although incorrectly.
I was wondering if you could edit your post there to correctly identify this suggestion as "butchery" instead of your posted title of "butchering" as a search of "butchering" brings no results.

Burchery is a skill that is everywhere in Cooking. It's like Brewing it is completely different from cooking but it's with cooking. You are thinking outside the box but to honest they already have burching inside cook.
Tuna + Knife = Chopped tuna.
Your say we only need a knife when you already can cut up fish, The only think I don't see us cutting up is meat. Now this could be a great add to cooking. They are missing this with cook. I am surprised they didn't add it on by now.
No support for a skill.
Support as an add on.

I believe Butchery is only a part of cooking because it has been greatly overlooked.
Yes, you would only need a knife to get started but great Butchers have many different knives and tools to work with and some that take a great knife maker (smithing) to make. Butchering a dragon into steaks in the field should yield a few good steaks but butchering it in your POH butchery (construction) on your mahogany chopping block with a great knife would certainly produce even better steaks with a better yield and less waste.
I think the most would agree that this sounds good but its the question of whether this is skillworthy that brings the greatest debate.
I want more skills. I want more diversity. I want the game to be harder and more challenging, not less. With all the botting players the old goal of getting to 99 means almost nothing and when you are competing with massive amounts of players that aren't even really playing I want a new skill that doesn't require that I interact with these players.
I kill my creature, I take the carcass to my butcher shop whether in my home or one of several located around Runescape, I butcher the meat, I cook the steaks and then I either use the cooked meat myself or sell it.
Butchery would compliment many other skills.
And as I have said numerous time in the past, this would take a lot of work and I just can't imagine Jagex would take the effort here if just lumping it in with cooking.
