not to be the only person who disagrees but if they added more food and stuff like that the food would have to be way better than fish and just look at rocktail and stuff any better and people won't die. plus butchery could go under cooking. so yea... there is enough food stuff in this game.

I think this should just be an extension of the cooking skill but for members, it's a good idea though because you could make new foods that heal more life points, perhaps maybe jagex is thinking about making all skills level 120 just like dungeoneering, then that's where so many new ideas could come in for 21 more levels :) . SUPPORT.

DarthNihilus,
Did you bother reading any of the thread? Suggestions for new skills are never pointless and there are a great deal of creatures that could be used to make this a skill. Used or not I'm really tired of always needing fish for combat and there are many possibilities of new foods out there.
And what is the problem with a new skill? Jagex plans on being around for the next 50 years, new skills are getting few and very far between.

And you say "Plus, we just got a new skill. Don't be selfish." Darth, Please look at the date of this skill suggestion. This thread was started last year.
And you wrote: "Cooking is already one of the most diverse skills out there." Yes, that's exactly why I didn't want to include it in the cooking skill.

this is poinless if everything dropped good food then food would crash and cost nothing making fishing pointless and i believe you said...

"This skill could directly support fishing, hunting, slayer, cooking, and all combat skills. "
it would make fishing pointless if you got good food in other ways as for hunter you clearly haven't ever went hunting or youd realize its not made for collecting meat but other things like pelts
there is no way this would be worth wrecking fishing which making new better non fishing foods would do

Hello Braydon180,
Ok, you said:
"this is pointless if everything dropped good food then food would crash and cost nothing making fishing pointless"
I never envisioned everything dropping good food, but instead pieces of meat that could be butchered into foods of different values and advantages.
It also seems to me that there is a great demand for good foods these days and it is reflected in the prices fish are getting.
In comparison of the fishing skill to the woodcutting skill, a level 40 fisherman can catch lobsters that bring an average of about 375 gps each while a level 45 woodcutter can cut maples that bring about 40 gps each.
A level 50 fisherman catches swordfish at 500 gps each while you need level 60 woodcutting to get yews at about 460 gps each.
I personally think fish are overpriced. A fisherman catching lobsters from level 40 to 99 will earn more than 50 million gps at current prices. That seems very high to me.
"there is no way this would be worth wrecking fishing which making new better non fishing foods would do"
I respectfully disagree.
