Desertbruise,
I've spent a great deal of time with Fastsc and benefited from the clan greatly but my concern is with the game as it was intended to be played. If Jagex wanted a non-combat version they would have added one. And there has certainly been no shortage of folks asking.
I also understand that Jagex seems to have approved of the non-combat clans as I've seen no effort on their part to limit their creation and promotion via the forums as they have done with other groups set up to play a mini-game or distraction in a way other than Jagex intended.
That said, again my passion is for Stealing Creation in the way Jagex intended for the game to be played. Sorry to be blunt but I have little concern for the effect on the non-combat games that what I believe an improvement to the actual game might bring. You just work around the issues for the benefit of the whole.
I suspect that there are thousands of skill based folks that would play the actual game if the game were more balanced as I'm suggesting.
I have also stated in the thread that I believe the mystic attack defending the bases would be limited in range to fall short of the closest resource location. This should prove to be of little consequence to a non-combat player with any game experience whatsoever.
Would you please explain your comment: "and a tunnel would make a very easy way to freeload"
While enjoying non-combat games of SC I understand that the goal is to clear the board of resources as fast as possible therefor getting your points and starting a new game. The fastest non-combat SC is the fastest SC points. Its for this reason I try to play non-combat games with folks whom all have 80+ in all SC related skills.
Also it is true that the number of players does effect the game board size. Having several players that are "freeloading" technically does slow the game a smidgen, adding what, a few seconds to a game?
No approval of this just because it would inconvenience you a little?
