Prior to this week's update, I might have said no; I'm typically very leery about doing anything that could cause the value of tradeable rares to crash without adequate reason. I'm normally all for reducing FOMO but considering people invest
very
heavily in these items I worry about the repercussions of causing those investments to tank. You typically don't want to anger players dedicated enough to accrue that type of wealth by making their investment meaningless.
But this week saw the re-release of Felix's cosmetics on the Oddments Store for a relative pittance, one of which (the Meowsketeer Rapier) was going for almost 100M before this happened. That, at least to me, seems to set a precedent that any tradeable rare is fair game for a re-release. Perhaps Jagex is saying that it's time to let go of the value of the artificial scarcity that rares have had, consequences be damned.
Either way, support, if only because of this.
