DISCLAIMER:

I am not here to throw rocks or make mean comments about the game! I enjoy runescape, but feel like theres room for improvement.

My Background

I have been playing and enjoying RPG games since i got a computer back in the days!
The RPG aspect of games, is the best!
I enjoy killing, skilling and exploring as any other RPG player does.

I have been playing games like: WoW, Maplestory, Black Desert online etc...

The issue i see in RS3: Questing

I feel like the game is in need of some fresh eyes regarding questing, in my opinion, questing in RS3 is too hard...

Yes, there is alot of guides on YT, Wiki and so on...

But i am here to play the game, not watch someone else play it and follow their exact footsteps. Having to pause the video and keep up with another dude/girl, telling me how this or that quest is done.

In OSRS they have a quest helper of some sort, which i found very appealing when i tried that game. Sadly RS3 doesnt have a corresponding feature, which makes me cry alittle.

In every single rpg game i have played, i havent had the need to YT every quest i wanted to do. This is the case in RS3, unless i want to read the whole lore and understand the quest on a deeper level.

I do know some players enjoy the "challenge" in completing a quest without the assistance, but for me (a 25 year old, working dog father, with other hobbies than gaming) its hard to sit down and use 2 hours on a single quest. So therefore i tend to YT and the quest now takes 20 min, but feels like labor work instead of playing the game.

My wish for RS3

Please give us the option to select some sort of quest helper for all quests. Im not saying it has to be as helpful as it is in games like: WoW.
But i would like to play the game and focus my time on the thing i enjoy (KILLING) - And since alot of killing is affiliated with questing it feels like a burden on my shoulders.

Thanks

I dont think you get my point.

Questing is not hard per say, its annoying/confusing i have to use a 3. Party program to minimize the time it takes, to do a quest.

Ofcourse its not hard, typing the quest name into YT and follow the guide (but wheres the fun in this?)

My point is, i feel like questing is such a big burden for me to actually do what i enjoy in the game. I know theres alot of information to find about the quest... But this is outside of the game. - I can't complete a single quest without having to either read about it on the wiki or YT the answer.

I dont want to use extra time doing a quest, because for me.. Its all about PvM and skilling, i really dont enjoy the questing part. So the conclusion is, i would like to be able to do a quest just as fast or faster only playing the game, without having to google/wiki where this and that npc is placed or what order i have to pull some levers to complete a quest.

Does this make sense?

Thats a choice from you to use guides. If that's whats ruining it for you then well dont use them, they arent a requirement.

For years now ive been doing quests with out a guide because i do them on release and there is no guide to use. And they really arent hard to work out how to finish, and are definitely more fun doing it this way.

Because you are using a guide you arent looking out for the hints and probably arent reading thr chat thats for the quest or understanding anything about the quest becayse you are using a guide. Now that i dont use them its so much more enjoyable. Instead of blindly using a guide not knowing why im doing what im doing.

While i do this im not using wiki or google because all that you do need to do is in the quest you are told what to do during the quest

Am i excited for new quests? No im not a big fan of them id rather do other things sure. Same with most people. But once started they are enjoyable if you engage in it. Thats what they are made for afterall

Modern quests really aren't an issue for that matter. Old quests can be extremely unintuitive at times, but yeah it shouldn't be that much of an issue to take up a guide and look at what exactly you have to do (even when you basically got the right thoughts already).

Mod Stu seems to be working throughout a lot of those stinkers currently, having improved quite a few already, with more in the pipeline - Ichtlarins Little Helper will get some improvements on monday for this regard for instance.

And honestly - RL telling you in OS directly what you have to do next is not backseat gaming? Seriously? But there also are text guides on the wiki, if you do not want to watch somebody doing that quest.
