I hate constantly taking these things off and on, and I think everyone would agree

Of course would have to fully upgrade it first with all the speech amulets. Maybe the ability to add to tool belt will come with higher tier city of um tasks

tbh, kinda figured they could also have you add the thing to the Monolith.
Sure you'd have to complete the Archaeology Tutorial, make get to Level 30-60 in the skill ... but not exactly the worst thing in the world.

Keep in mind, not as another relic power. But as a permanent passive.
Think like Sliske's Gift. Do a bunch of quests and have the Ring of Shadows. He comes along and poof, you now have the permanent ability to see things in the shadow realm (mostly useful for hunting the ghost peng)

That seems like a good opportunity for a quest reward. Make some silly quest where we talk to the animals, it gets to be annoying so we need to find a way to upgrade it for toolbelt use.

In the end, it turns out whatever problem the animals had was simple to solve, they just needed someone to translate.
