Maybe you can level up the instruments to become more effective using them, but obviously the higher leveled instruments would even start out more effective than the lower level ones even when they are leveled up.

There is a lot you can do with this idea. Sounds like it could also be a lot of work though.
Especially the stuff that coincides with prayer, but it might be OP without some sort of points draining system.
Hey E0_0A (not sure if I typed your name correctly) lol. Thank you for the input. Because we start off with a mindset that this skill will be a basic skill instead of an elite skill, it should not have another skill as a requirement.
However, the music skill could be enhanced by Invention like perks for musical instruments.
On the ideas about music points, this is my opinion. In prayer, the point system is more like a god points. You know if you worship a god, you have to do something to earn blessing such as praying and potions that make you holy. You cannot just ask a god for stuff all the times and does not do anything for him or her.
The stuff I mentioned about Music and Prayer is one, we prayer to a god of RS is one thing, but we can play music to one which should gain us more XP. The second part is about CB abilities. I think they already require a good amount of dedication to own. If you want to have Saradomin's help, you must unlock it by defeating Zilyana alone and in order to face her, you must have 70 agility.
I have decided to build a quest line for Harmonica. She wants to discover her music power and so the adventurer who helped her in quest 1 which is you want to discover more about music, its instruments, and applications as well.
