My suggestion is to have the Gem Bag be able to be added to the toolbelt, and an Imp that collects Gems. When you have the Gem Bag and you collect them they go right to your bag, why not take it one step further and have a Gem Imp that you can purchase from the Dungeoneering shop and this Gem Imp would also be able to be added to tool belt for slayer points.

Storage devices do not belong on the tool belt; it's a tool belt after all, and not a storage belt. The gem bag can already store quite a lot in only one inventory spot.

A gem collecting imp would belong though (similar to the bonecrusher, gold accumulator, charming imp...), but how common are gems as a drop that a collecting tool is warranted?

All the demon variants often drop gems as well as gargoyles, get them quite a bit from dragons too. So they are fairly common. If you had a gem bag handy and the Gem imp collected them right to the bag then that would be useful, without the bag the gem imp would not be useful unless it used gems the way herbicide and seedicide can be used.

You're right on the storage thing though, my problem is I always forget to bring the gem bag, partially because I keep forgetting creatures do drop gems.

just make a slayer preset then! one with all items u might need for slayer like excalibur ancient elven crystal spring cleaner and ofc gem bag!

i do like the idea of an item or an imp to collect the gems for u like every other item we have that does it for us since like u said gems are pretty common drops and we should be able to set it to either collect or craft to get the xp we would get for cutting them and them disappear so it makes a little bit of an item sink as well which would be nice

More interesting for medium levelled content and players - which OP is, since at high levels gem drops usually are noted anyway. But considering they've added drop collectors for the other cleaners (of which herb is likewise useless to high levelled players for the same reason) I wouldn't see anything wrong in that.

As for the bags, I could see it as potential reward space, but other than that Jagex would need to come up with good management for those, since it'll end up as a hassle otherwise, if we were to use the current TB UI.

But yeah if you keep forgetting it, you should use presets. You should anyway, since this save you a lot of time getting equipped for certain content.
