I haven't accumulated many friends, and certainly no close friends, on RS since I've been back, but I can see a purpose for this feature.

On my original account of a few years back, I had a long list of RS friends. Sometimes we would make arrangements to meet on a certain world, in a certain place, at a certain time. On one occasion, there were 5 of us who agreed to meet to do some boss killing. One didn't show up and on the friends list it showed him offline. (As a side note: We all agreed not to set our status as being "offline&quot ;) . We waited about 30 minutes and decided to go without him. A couple days later, we saw him online and asked where he was for the boss killing. He claimed he was there but we never showed up. An argument ensued. He called us everything but "good people" if you catch my drift. Because of this mishap, he quit our group and blocked us. If we had this feature we would have known whether or not he had been online and when. Then, perhaps, this whole thing could have been cleared up.

I support

PS: Maybe include which world the person was on.

Given that you can so easily switch worlds, I personally don't see the need for a "last online on X world" feature, however I will leave that up to Jagex as whether or not to include it - I thank you for your feedback vonSageworth :-) Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

I suggested that because it might have been possible our friend was there but on a different world. Perhaps miscommunication, he didn't write it down and thought he was on the right world or miss clicked when hopping.

Idk how short everyone else's memory is but i know when i haven't seen someone on for a long time

Yes, but what if they are on daily but at a different time from you? This would at least tell you a little more about when they are on so that you can try to adjust your schedule(s) to match.

It needs to go up to at least 6 months, if not a year. If someone's gone more than a year, it's fairly safe to assume they have quit more or less permanently. But there are lots of people who come and go from games. I'm one of them. I'll play a game for a month or so, burn out, switch games, and eventually find my way back around to RuneScape, etc. I'd say it's probably more common that people rotate games than stay permanently attached to one game and one game only.

Of course, for clans with activity requirements and such, it's fine to boot people after a month. But as far as I'm concerned, I won't remove people from my friends list unless they've been gone a VERY long time. Though, I'm not the type to fill up my list to begin with. I only have two people on mine :P
