Its not just how fast, its everything that could have been done with him and how he was hyped up and written.

And what major events did his death bring? Nothing he was basically a blip, his dead set nothing major in motion like that of Guthix.

I do fail to see how it opens any "can of worms."

They killed Guthix.
Yes we got his memories. We went back in time and talked to him. We had a behind the scenes actor of Guthix.
But Guthix is dead.

It is CANON that when a God. Tier 7, Tier, 6, Tier 2, Elder.. When a god DIES ... there is no afterlife. They. Are. Dead.
This has been verified in multiple livestreams and Q&A's.

In exchange for massive amounts of anima/power compared to mortals and an extended lifespan (Even if they didn't intend it) they lose the ability to procreate and have an afterlife and even be revived.
Zanik is one of the few rare snowflakes to get this resurrection reward because her fate was never her own and then the devs didn't have any sort of creativity in coming up with an alternate NPC to act as the Bandosian Digsite supervisor.
But even then, Zanik is MORTAL .... not a GOD.

When a god dies, they are deader than dead.

Tuska is dead. Yes, there are supposedly remnants of anima flowing thru her body due to absorbing anima from who knows how many worlds. But she is still dead.

Mah, a bleeping Elder God is dead. They ain't bringing her back.

In stories, there often needs to be an end for a character. It is to show how dangerous something is or to give a conclusion to their story arc so that others can move forward. Sometimes the writer of the story is just lazy and can't come up with something else.

Jagex can always come up with some "memories of V' or "Tales of V" where we get to see the God of Epic Abs in all his heroic glory saving the day and his random adventures, IN THE PAST.
But V . Is. Dead.
He ain't coming back.
He ain't getting resurrected.
He ain't getting some deus ex machina.

Guthix is dead.
Bandos is dead.
Tuska is dead.
Mah is dead.
V is dead.

If people would read the thread or even just the title. Its a Rework suggestion to retcon the original quest like they did in a few past quests and rewrote it. Im not asking to bring Gods back from the dead in the existing canon, once more I am suggesting a rework of the quest that advances the Dragonkin storyline, as Heros Welcome was intended to do, whilst keeping a new God alive.

You can agree or disagree but don't bash someone's suggestion thread if you dont agree with it. Nothing is impossible, things are retconned all the time. Its a SUGGESTION. Elder Gods exist in this game, they create life, could they say revive Bandos to do their bidding for the eggs? Absolutely. It is possible. Jagex could benefit greatly by not wasting characters.

I don't realistically think Jagex would actually do it but with existing quests having been reworked in the past, making a few largely superficial changes in order to retcon V's death to make better use of him while still keeping the gist of events around it seems doable.

A lot could be gained from it in terms of restoring lost potential and he could always get killed off in a more satisfying manner at a later time once he's had more use. It's not quite the same but they backpedaled on killing off Zamorak when he lost the battle of Lumbridge even if they committed to offing Bandos later.

One of the potential uses for V is he could have been seen worth following for some of the remaining Bandosians who have heard of him. Theres even some of the Guthix followers that remain, as they do have the same basic ideals.

You could even stretch using him to be the "leader" of the Godless. What they wanted lined up with V and Guthix ideals, since didn't see himself as a god nor did he want to be treated like one.

This unification between the three factions in their respective views of V, could have given him a significant following if he were still alive.
