Ya i see the prices stabilizing for the most part in over max cash items. I heard someone say they will probably crash due to people using them as currency but those ppl are very few. I think having rares in ge will make alot of ppl feel more comfortable buying them because of the stability ge will bring. Also I think some rares that are harder to find though that have way less volume will most likely skyrocketed because ppl will have the chance at their fingertips to see how rare some items actually are. But ya one everything settles everything will be back to normal and prices will stabilize and rise and fall like everything else.

@Augur Roger - you make a very interesting point that I've also heard from others around the hard-to-find rares. With a max cash revamp solution, the "extreme rare" category items such as Christmas cracker, holly wreath, and half full wine jug will likely be seldom traded as they are today. As you say, we'll be able to appreciate just how scarce these items are.

Do you think items like xmas scythe and holly wreath are discontinued? I ask this because turkies were rereleased.

I think so because people really like these items and work incredibly hard to afford one. It encourages hard work to get and in some cases the purchases of bonds. This is all good for RS3! Plus if they stay discontinued, future discontinued items will be more valuable too because the confidence people will have with them being discontinued.

I'm not sure about Christmas Scythe but wiki does say Holly Wreaths and Black Santa hats are labeled as "2nd Generation Discontinued Rares".

I don't think they will release scythes and black santas because they got a lot of flame for releasing turkeys again. Pretty sure there were a fair few reddit posts on it too.

They're still discontinued, and there's no evidence of them being released again. If they were to release them again then i don't see what would stop them from releasing a tradeable phat.

Christmas is coming up though and they can do whatever they want with their game so who knows. Im sure if they put a scythe or black santa on th over christmas they would make a lot of $. Whatever figure they make doing that, times it by 20 if they put a black phat on there.
*wink*

I don't believe any mod has quoted them to be 2nd generation rares. So i wouldn't put too much thought into what wiki labeled them as. There's less scythes in game than red santa hats so that should tell you something itself. Seemingly, they're far less traded too.

It took a little while before wreaths shot up, so scythes could follow, it is also the only wieldable discontinued item. Whether or not it spikes, probably depends on whether people want to keepsake it over a dye, which it doesn't seem like many do at the moment. Let it leave ge more 'naturally' and i have no doubt it'll settle at a price above santa.

I can't see any change in rares even if Jagex add a different stable currency.

Rares go up and down with the weather. :P
Sounds like Tuffty doesn't stake. I don't stake either, but I know what a new currency would bring if stakers could use it conveniently.

We need tokens worth 1b each though.

Currently, phats are used as staking tokens. That's where the market is. RS is increasingly just one big gambling casino with players buying bonds to afford phat tokens.
I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(
