They do know accurate number, it says in their files for each rare item. There is just dispute between active, non-active and banned accounts but with little work they can include that too.

Yeah but it's separate as inactive can be 2,3,5,10 or 20 years. Obviously I would only count inactive accounts that didn't log in in like 10+ years or something like that but maybe you have different opinion on it, that's why it's kinda hard to precise so we would need a fix number that would work for everything, like I've said, I think that number is 10 years.
The action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired.

There are more old rares in-game now than there has been in years.

Not only has Jagex unbanned all the accounts that were banned over 3 years ago, with rares (not rwt), there are teams of people cracking old accounts thanks to Jagex's security.

If you look on certain black market sites, a single person I know doing this has brought back about 10 rares in the last week from abandoned accounts.

She still plays. I saw her in game at the GE 2 or 3 times late last year 2021

Ive been in the same clan with her on 1 of her alts 2 years ago. i heard from a contact that she got hacked last year and lost her santa collection but idk if that was true or not, i did notice she didnt trade alot around that time, havent seen her ingame for a long time. then again i havent seen any of the monopoly guys on their main accounts for a while. i think ive seen wiserichman he changed his username but forgot to change his signature. trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.

So, the numbers people posted, especially after the dupe, are probably… a bit off.

Supposedly, it wasn’t only pinks that were duped…

Anyway, Hweens might be good to buy. Maybe someone will like them one day. Maybe someone will like pumpkings one day. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(
