I was referring to Established's dream about party hats being re-released
If you are referring to the bank-bidding idea, then it's not your idea, since Jagex already had that up for discussion. It failed, and I think you guys should let go of that dream
I think people fail to realize how many phats are still around. There is just a much smaller supply that is actually being traded. Alot of the time when players get partyhats that arent merchers they will pretty much be taken out of circulation unless they go to upgrade eventually.. There are still plenty around. Just not being traded.

Actually i was referring to the idea of certain items going back onto the g.e from banned accounts. I assumed that's what you meant with the quotation.
Technically, the rares would not be re-released, just put back in circulation from perma banned accounts.
Imaigne all the lurers that have been banned with multiple, that gained them unfairly, only to be taken out of the game and cause the prices to rise. Putting them back in circulation from such accounts would effectively reverse inflation, since the money that pays for them, isn't going to another player.
This would all be possible with the G.E changes.
Also, the manipulation currently going on is absurd.. You know this, i know this and Jagex knows this, so i think it's likely something like this will probably come around in the near future.
This change would negatively impact my bank, but i support Jagex doing this 100%.

It doesn't really matter how many hats there are on active accounts or in active circulation. Rarely, but not impossibly, such conditions may form that price can crash on literally few pieces of particular asset (and in relation to that cause considerable turmoil on the market and subsequently drag wider supply on the wave). Similarly, as we witnessed in case of partyhats uphill ride over the previous period.
Everything, ranging from sub-atomic particles to galaxy clusters, has its dynamics predefined. And then there are people claiming that systems like economy, society or other human sub-systems are in our hands.

That idea is also not realistic, especially since there's A LOT of banned accounts with party-hats, it would have the same effect as if Jagex just re-released them, which they are not planning on doing... So ya, as I mentioned before, let go of that dream
@mega duck - personally, I agree with you that we should have rares that are lost on permanently banned accounts we re released into the market again, though I’m not sure on best way to do it - I feel like a sort of auction wouldn’t really be super successful in dropping the price of phats/assuaging supply concerns as accounts with tons of capital would simply bid the highest and take the lion’s share, which does happen in markets/economies IRL.
I think It would be fun if jmods were able to sort of hand them out randomly (this might get me lots of hate
) to players just playing the game, like someone simply selling their herb run at the ge or something, or maybe they can award party hats randomly to accounts? Like a sort of a draw I guess!
I’ve had most of the phat colours at one point or another, and every other rare at one point also, and I think any person should be able to experience that initial *shock* you get when you first purchase a party hat from someone, because it has become so ingrained in the RS3 culture /subculture
Not if they released them from very specific accounts. And how do you know they aren't planning on doing it?
It has clearly crossed their minds already with the whole bank bidders idea lol.
