While gold becomes more worthless players will invest into items, and since rares are limited supply the price increase will just rise overtime. It's common sense not rocket science

Clownery is the look of the outfit with classic iconic partyhats on the top.

Over the previous decade I could have always afforded at least one - two of those. From time to time I bought some put it on my head for a short time (minutes to days maybe) and sold it afterwards as I've considered them to be overrated.

To me it has always been much more a trading / merch article than an item of prestige. I may get it again sometimes in future but ofc not buying it for these anomalous prices.

Sure I also have golden partyhats, currently over 50. Not even wearing those as I prefer my pirate's hat - looks better with full pirate outfit.

I'm not saying that partyhats will never again reach april's ATH but it may certainly take long long years according to the charts (charts usually don't lie, people do). Therefore other items seem to be a much better investment option.

Everything, ranging from sub-atomic particles to galaxy clusters, has its dynamics predefined. And then there are people claiming that systems like economy, society or other human sub-systems are in our hands.

Looking forward to the max cash changes and 1% GE tax update, I think it'll be really interesting and good for the game. Quite curious to see what they do with partyhats too, if they do anything at all

This is maybe an unpopular opinion coming from someone who trades/owns partyhats, but I think it could be a pretty good thing if they decided to rerelease a certain number of partyhats from banned accounts back into circulation - as long as it's done fairly and transparently.

I recall there was an incident late last year where this one player somehow got hold of an insane amount of shards - many suspected it was a faulty item reclaim. That player proceeded to buy up a LOT of partyhats. And by lots, I mean multiple trillions worth. It was really crazy

I think that player was eventually banned, and all the partyhats they bought were presumably removed from the game too. There was a lot of panic buying that spiked up partyhat prices after people found out about the whole fiasco

I thought it was a bit of a shame for so many partyhats to be removed from the game just like that - if that's what actually happened lol. So I wouldn't mind too much if they decide to rerelease a certain number of banned partyhats with this update

You're comparing a cosmetic hat with no stats to end game combat gear... Those are two completely different things. Also, I never said anything about wanting free party hats. I was describing how messed up It is that a majority of people who own said hats act like they're all that and a bag of chips. No one is any better than someone else because of certain items they have. That's just absurd. We're all human beings and items in a video game don't define us.

Agreed. At one point, everyone thought rares went back in the G.E from banned accounts, they didn't, but it would make sense if they had.
I support them re-releasing into the new and updated G.E, since they wont be forced to be sold for max cash or for ridiculously cheap.

Another idea is that the gold used to purchase rares from banned accounts on the G.E could act as a huge gold sink, since that gold will have nowhere to go, other than out of circulation.

Just enjoy the pixels/ rares, just a game.

I wouldn't know what to do with alot of money and no rares.
And I think i'm not the only one (a good selection of old skool early 2000s players would think the same I think).

I don't think this is going to happen because when golden partyhats came out, Jagex made it pretty clear these golden phats will not return again. So if golden phats wont return, i doubt the other rares will either.
