Yea a complete removal would be too harsh + I kind of like how gambling is contained on one world on a specific part of the map - I'm sure players would find a new way to gamble if it was removed.

It boggles my mind that OSRS got platinum tokens 5 YEARS AGO . They can hold 2.14 trillion's worth of liquid Gp in one item slot... whereas we can only hold 53b. It gets even more ridiculous when you think about how much more valuable OSRS gp is. Based off of a 1:6 OSRS:RS3 rate, OSRS players can hold an equivalent of 12.88T RS3 gp in a single slot.

Duel arena is a monster at this point but I definitely think a few changes can lessen its reach into the rest of the game.

i think removing the option to stake items would devalue rares without releasing more of them, wouldnt this be the perfect option to counter rwters and fixing the price spikes?.

Something needs to be done to counter the rwt and gambling contribution to the price rises for sure. I don't think the goal should be to just devalue rares (which I don't think is what you are saying to do) for the sake of devaluing them but yeah.

Perhaps a tax would be better suited as a first step though because although people don't currently really use the arena for other than gambling, it could be used for risk fighting outside of pvp areas.

Yes i kinda mis spoke there.

what i meant is to focus on the value change overall ingame reflecting on what the price was sometime ago. ofcourse rares will always rise in price over time but i feel like this rise isnt just because its rares but more like it has to do with rwt and "boosting"items. what i hope to see is that items stop getting "boosted"in price for the sole purpose of rwt.
trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.

OSRS doesn't have tradeable discontinued items I think. (I haven't been there in ages.)

People shouldn't be able to stake items. Rhodium tokens might be nice, worth 1b each.

I'd like to devalue for the sake of devaluing.

The [phat prices] are too high. (Meme: The rent is too high.)

Well Duel Arena is ingrained in RWT, Gambling, and more. which is the reason it needs removal it all comes down to gambling and such running the wheel of major rwting in runescape and oldschool runescape. aka Gamblers sell their winnings. and other gamblers buy to gamble more. and the wheel keeps going. Yeah, they could remove the gambling aspect of the arena without completely removing it by limiting the number of boxes that can be ticked off (not sure exactly how many boxes are left unticked for poly or boxing) but if people are unable to set up a match then most people won't take a gamble and trust that the other person won't start eating for example lol or use that unticked box. Simply put, they can make it so that you can only block 2 of the 4 of: range, melee, mage, and food for example.

If osrs does remove the arena completely then, they should certainly do something like the above on rs3.

simple fix is to remove value staking. If people want to trust trade or what ever they can. But that is gonna kill the gambling part of duel arena in the heart beat.

Raising max cash should really be considered it will be much easier to catch fake trades not saying it will completely stop it. It won't really hurt street trading as it happens with tokens under max cash. I need my blue charms back.

I would like to see some sort of action that completely removes having to trust an individual's integrity. I personally would like to see the introduction of platinum tokens and the ability for them to be used as currency on the Grand Exchange - but the only way that would stop player manipulation is to force those items to be untradeable outside of the GE.

There was a fairly public dupe that occurred not that long ago too. I was very surprised to see some of the rares that were confirmed duped skyrocket. I wish Jagex would be more transparent in terms of actual active numbers.

Some other ideas my friends and I have thrown around:
-Add certain items to clue scroll tables (extremely rare ofc)
-Add Rares to the RDT that is 2-4x as rare as an HSR, missed cosmetic rolls give an edible
-Add new holiday events with identical rares but in different colors
-Some sort of trading cool down that makes people wait a predetermined amount of time between rare trades.
-Add inactive rares back into the game through some agreed upon method.
-Go the OSRS route and have Jmods mass drop old holiday items. Completely wash their hands of the situation.
