The evolving stages of this conversation:

"Just watch, this is going to be the next BSH!"

"Just wait until the event ends and these become discontinued! Then you'll see the spike!"

"Just wait until a month or two from now. Now that it's over, the supply will dry up and you'll see them rise!"

"Just give it a few more months. It's stabilized at 300m and it's only going up from here!"

"There's no way it drops below 200m! It's only been 6 months! Just you wait!"

"Well it will go up in the long term."

I think it's interesting to compare GPH to red santa hats, another cosmetically appealing and relatively common rare item.

The current price ratio of GPH to santa hat is about 22 : 1.

It is plausible that there are about 22 times more active gold partyhats than santa hats in circulation, although this is towards the upper bound of what I'd expect, making GPH relatively cheap IMO

There is around 6.36 times more ETH in circulation than BTC.
Price of BTC is roughly 17.32 times higher than price of ETH.

In term of total amount mined platinum is more than 30 times rarer than gold yet currently is roughly 2 times cheaper than gold.

I could continue with similar examples from countless other fields.

This is a terrible example.

BTC has a value higher than its relative market ratio because it has higher confidence and popularity among even ordinary consumers. Ask the average person and they will know BTC, but they might not know ETH.

And gold is worth so much more because it's significantly more useful. Not all value is derived from rarity. Gold is used in a large number of expensive electronics in ways that platinum just isn't.

I just want to know what you're trying to argue? when we all agree on the same thing, which is ;GPH will rise in the future.

No one here expects it to reach max cash overnight. No one has told people to NOT sell their hats on first day of release, when it was super low volume and worth 2b-500m - Most people sold their hats at this time, and that's understandable

At some point GPH will reach a low peak, it could be the price now, it could be a different price, but no one cares... No one who invested in GPH's will sell them now, people have invested in the long run, and just accept that

I personally don't care how low it goes today, when I know in few years it will probably be worth x10 more

It's also a very special unique rare, let's not forget its the 20th anniversary rare, and that's enough to make it very special to me

Now, stop crying about "Bla.. bla.. I told people to sell it when it was worth 2b-500m on first day of release!!!" people got it, and have moved on and so should you

A lot of the non merch lower class peasant players thought it would be a good investment. They feed us at the top and we are grateful for them.

You should probably take a break from the game if you take any aspect of it so seriously that you start unironically referring to others as "peasants". Not trying to be rude or stir the pot, but that is just... oof. lol

Games are meant to be a source of fun, man. If you've reached a point where you start talking like a movie villain, then you really need to take some time to reevaluate the way that you play it.

Edit: Reworded to be slightly more civil.

Until you at the top eat everything, they stop playing and the relative value of "good old hats" will become nothing.

In reality, few dozens of players trade old partyhats among themselves and pretend to be the market.

I sold my white for under 2B many years ago and haven't bought since then (although I could) because I didn't feel as it would be anything special or sort of an achievement to me anymore. Instead I used my capital to study the market and play on it with wider range of items (on the market itself, not the game as is) since I found it more reasonable than storing the most expensive ones.

I'm sure jagex calculated the amount of gold phats before introducing them. As it was supposed to be needed for the economy on rs, but the jagex motives is what needs to be questioned. Bank nerf vs more in-game gp , they sell gp btw
