"In our First Look blog, we initially stated that we were limiting Necromancy combat xp rates to better preserve the journey of Necromancy and deliver that feeling of progression you want from a new skill. Learning from Archaeology, we're aiming to create a deep, fulfilling levelling experience.

This was originally going to be achieved by an artificial reduction in experience tied to levels - but instead, thanks to the hard work of the team, we have instead overhauled the combat experience system at its core!"

No nerf there. An artificial reduction in experience tied to levels was originally planned, but thanks to the hard work of the team, it is no longer in place. :)

You have all missed there are combat nerfs.

Edit
"we have instead overhauled the combat experience system at its core!"

Abyssal demons will lose a quarter of xp for example. Where as earth warriors ( like 20 levels lower) will get a 25% increase.

It's definitely a good thing. The current system makes no sense. Just random XP drops that funnel players into doing the best method. It's way too fast.

I was wondering how they would deal with it using Necromancy. They put in the work and fixed the source of the problem. Very nice.

Also good to buff some of the lowest level monsters. Watch out for those cows!

I just hope there aren't any mathematical typos. A small number of overpowered chickens could wipe out an entire server in minutes.

The common monsters like airut have not had stats changed but will give only 1/3 of the current xp. Abby demons 1/3 less, dark beasts about 50%.

Almost every monster (slayer and boss) is like half xp now apart from the lowest level mobs that give 2 xp more.

This is bad and don't expect it to go down well with the players.

Edit: arc island monsters are now 50xp from 570 so less than 10%xp.

That was old news. Please read today's Combat Insights blog on the front page of News on the Runescape.com Website. They revamped it and I quoted it on Page 1, Post 2. The Wiki is not the official and latest Jagex words.

Ermmmmmm are you OK? That's what I read. That's where I got the information from.
There are xp nerfs.

Think I'm ok with it making it harder for folks to level up as it has gotten a bit easy. Just wish I had got all combat to 120 before hand so it wouldn't be harder for me hehe.

In an ideal world yes, it makes sense, but the way it works now is you have a choice of killing monsters that give good drops and low xp or bad drops and good xp. If they make everything equal, then the most profitable monsters will always be packed, and the rest will be dead content. You cannot rework xp rates without reworking the drop tables.

It's not old news, the links to the wiki for the new xp rates are on the same news post you are referring to. You have to click the links to see them.

Yes, the RS Wiki seem to be the new one after checking. However, the new xp formala brings us a rebalance and not a nerf. We will get less xp from some mobs, but more from other mobs, depending on simpler calculations based on HP.
