Well I just hope they update some of the very outdated areas of the game first. The game is 20 plus years old at this point. I think it's more than overdue.

Why should they? Didn't you question if new players would be turned away from outdated graphics (page 1, post 5)? I am absolutely sure Jagex doesn't want new players to be turned away from outdated graphics either, and that's why they created NEW PLAYER EXPERIENCE and new content for them with modern content and graphics. Why would they be so stupid to outdate old areas where new players hardly visit NOW in 2022?

Did'nt we rework Port Sarim, Falador, Catherby, Al-Kharid; basically all starter areas so new players are amazed with NXT's features?
Then getting them excited and buying membership, and finding out places like Seers' Village and ooglog grafics exist?

Sounds like a big scam to me.

Waiting entirely (since 2017 and earlier) for Jagex to pick up the Camelot rework. It was in a far design stage and made me super excited to see it getting redeveloped. Of course area reworks should be in pair with re-imagined game content, as they did for low-level skilling thieving in Catherby.

Long ago they said they would not be updating Seer's and Camelot, and the reason was players had very low interests.

What content is in Seer's and Camelot? Virtually nothing. Nobody picks flax in RS3 in 2022.

kinda figured they'd at least do a minor graphical rework like they did with the Crafting Guild in some areas

Far more than that. I think we will at least see the spherical camera angle graphics an environmental artist showcased last year.

They shredded more light, yes the pointed light project, in today's Q&A Livestream regarding reworking old area graphics:

They also talked about reworking old areas like Karamja and their response is pretty much instead of reworking it, they no longer want it, but will only expand it in modern Runescape:

"The fundamental concept of Karamja is just this colonial 19th century as a core, and it's something that we no longer really 'want' in Runescape"

I think this is pretty much what it is coming up with the other older areas too. I think they have been very consistent with this approach. They core concept of the old areas are not longer what they "want" in modern Runescape, so no point to spend much time reworking whole areas.

if they don't want these areas anymore then why not just get rid of them? bring in new areas that have use and actually look good. no game should have areas that look like it's from the year 2004. lol it's like getting on gta and heading over to franklins place and seeing the graphics in that one area looking like complete dog water compared to everywhere else. if you're going to set the tone graphics wise then please make sure it's done throughout the whole game and actually looks good. it doesn't matter if players frequent those areas often or not. the game has been out for 20 plus years now. there's no excuse.

and like said, if jagex thinks these areas don't need to be in the game anymore, then get rid of them. oh wait, there's tons of content like quests and tasks in those areas. nevermind.
