Honestly Pride is perfectly okay, and if anyone has a sexuality that isn't mine, that is also perfectly okay.

However, when you try and escape to a game to get passed all the craziness right now in real life, involving BLM and the Pride stuff, they go and bring it to the game. Is this the first time something like this has been brought to Runescape?
I'm just worried its going to blow up and we will see constant stuff related to these political and lifestyle movements.

Same thing happened on a different FPS game I play where I log in to smack some noobs, and relax a bit, and next thing you know all the loading screens became BLM movement related, and they sell stuff BLM related.

Like, let us have some escape from real life, for real, and keep it out of the games? Privately organized makes sense, but for Jagex to be promoting it as part of the game news is crazy.

It's completely unnecessary, what more inclusivity do they want? They can create an account level it and get gains like any of us, no ones chasing em off the game with pitchforks, they got the rainbow set and armadyl.

Escape is exactly what is required for many people out there. Escape from the tyranny and injustice in their real lives.

If you had to go through even just a little bit of what some people have to go through, you'd be glad you could escape to a place which supports the way you are.

As for the promotion, how else are people going to find out about it if it's not announced in a news post - a news post which isn't even dedicated to the event? It's more of a mere footnote on the article.

Does this really effect your gameplay?

I think you need to do a little research. Pride isn't about rainbows and Armadyl (honestly don't know why he's come into it).

I've seen some incredibly offensive comments over the years on RS. Thankfully it's not as bad now as it used to be, but you still see people come out with obscene comments. Now most of this is probably naivete, which makes pride events all the more necessary. The more people can learn about such causes, the happier we can make our community.

Perhaps you should do your research - Armadyl (male) refers to his husband.

Thanks Archaeox.

I'm not into RS lore so this has passed me by.

Pride events are about allowing people to be able to feel comfortable in the community they are in. Given how uncomfortable many people have been throughout years of oppression and shame, I don't think it's amiss to allow such events to occur.

Why are they feeling like they arent comfortable in the community they are in and are needed of special treatment like this?

I mean i could use the very logic and demand a event because i dont feel comfortable.

Yet i wont be getting one.

No ones being oppressed or shamed here and if they are maybe they just havent found the correct area yet.

Before you say that the whole point of this is of course to point them in the right direction, once again how about the other groups?
