It's completely unnecessary, what more inclusivity do they want? They can create an account level it and get gains like any of us, no ones chasing em off the game with pitchforks, they got the rainbow set and armadyl.

+1

Dont know where ppl got the idea they are being treated any different then any other person as they arent.

Why are they feeling like they arent comfortable in the community they are in and are needed of special treatment like this?
In many countries it's a crime to be gay. How would you feel if someone put you in jail for being heterosexual? Pride events - even in virtual worlds - allows people from around the world, particularly those under oppressive regimes, to express themselves.

Many people in the LGBTQ+ community feel shame and/or are closeted about the way they are. These events are there to support these people and to show them there is nothing to feel shameful about. It's a support network, and every person has the right to have access to one.

I mean i could use the very logic and demand a event because i dont feel comfortable.

Yet i wont be getting one.
You don't know if you don't try. Why don't you send Jagex an email of your plight and see what they say? The LGBTQ+ community wouldn't have gotten pride if they didn't push for it.

No ones being oppressed or shamed here and if they are maybe they just havent found the correct area yet.
Are you saying the LGBTQ+ community aren't welcome here? Because that's how it sounds.

Before you say that the whole point of this is of course to point them in the right direction, once again how about the other groups?
Why don't you send a list to Jagex of other groups you feel need events like this? I'm sure they'll be open to hosting events for other groups of people, just like they do for those suffering from mental health.

This is one event for one group of people. Perhaps this could grow into something much bigger where other oppressed groups could have their own events to raise awareness of their plights. You could be on to something here Draco.

It's a little walk through some of the F2P area of the game. This isn't some forced content update. It's a fun little virtual stroll. Don't like it, don't take part, you won't miss any important lore or gameplay elements. Practically zero dev time was devoted to this. At most they added some fireworks animations and such that they already had available to them along the route. There is no negative impact on anyone, here. Actually, you can attend it too if you want! Pride Parades don't turn away straight people, you know. So, whoever claimed that this somehow ISN'T inclusive is completely incorrect.

Oh, and, you don't have a "Straight Pride" month or parade because you already have it so easy. Nobody discriminates against straight or cisgender people. Nobody beats or kills people for being straight or cisgender. There aren't any "heterophobic" or "cisphobic" slurs, at least, none that I know of. You can go ANYWHERE without fear of judgment, pain, or death, based on who you are or who you love. Also, a BLM Event could be awesome, as long as Jaggy doesn't try to make a profit off of it. Knowing them, they would.

Look, we don't have real-life Pride Parades this year because of the pandemic. We're trying to make up for that however we can. Let us have our fun. If you want to attend, I would be delighted to walk alongside you through the whole route. If not, that's fine too. Go and grind out your Slayer or Archaeology or whatever it is you want to do. But don't whine about it as if you're inconvenienced. That's just petty, rude, and childish.

They can do that ingame right now no parades needed.. might just seem a simple parade now but then they will want it again next year bigger and better colour the roads in rs with rainbows, 365 statues to represent each of the sexes so on and so on.
Then BLM gets an event then feminists will want one too, where do we draw a line here? We just want to play some games with NON of this political stuff

If it ever gets to that point, complain about it then.

Right now it's not going to affect you.

I do have a question for you though. What is it about pride that you don't like?

It will get to that point if we keep quiet and allow it to go through.

I don't like it in the game cause it's political catered to 1 group, we been fine without it all these years that group is able to enjoy the game same way anyone else is able to, like we did nothing ingame for clap for nhs a much better cause but that's irl stuff and we just want to play games..

So what you're saying is you don't want any real life influence in RuneScape?

Such as one-off celebratory events during Spring and the start of Winter, Turkeys in November, Uncle Sam hats in July, or Wolves in January.

Don't forget about how real life stories effect quest-lines: Romeo and Juliet comes to mind, and then there's the Gower quest which literally places three real life people into the game.

Then you have the more permanent content of Ninjas in the far East, Viking raiders in the North, and Kings ruling over Kingdoms.

Don't worry, I get it. You want this to remain a safe haven from anything political that's going on in the world. You just have to remember that every player has a real life, and that real life affects what they do and say in the game.

So whilst you might not like a community event about a topic like this, it doesn't mean the community can't get together and do something with like-minded people. Jagex has merely advertised the event so people who wish to take part can do so, and those who don't want to take part can merely avoid going there at that time.

Jagex also advertises community events on every single news post. It's not as if they've only just decided to advertise events because they want to push pride.
